Rafale Stuck In Officialdom, Not One Defence Rfp Or Tender Issued Despite $16b Approvals

.
Perhaps that is why DM MP is not worrying for squadron falling numbers.. as he is revolutionizing the concept of IAF planners to move away from minimum squadron numbers to effective squadron numbers..
I'm sorry bro, he was touted as some god-send for DM but he is not that guy, he doesn't even seem to be a particularly wise leader. Inept maybe too strong a word but he is definitely not a revolutionary.

Additionally, it isn't the job of the DM to dictate the defence strategy/plans to the military- the military comes up with their wishlist/plans/strategy, the Govt simply tells the military the overall strategic imperatives, not how to get them done.

Nothing the DM is doing is changing the way the IAF plans/thinks, he is simply meant to facilitate that and here he is failing (all three services) miserably.

well bro they are since past 3 and half years dragging there feets on one pretext or the other now they again
It was not all Dassualt's making, the Indian side has to take responsibility for quite a few of the issues that cropped up on the way.

Anyway, this new Rafale deal is a govt-govt agreement and thus things are moving far swifter and will see a happy conclusion before long.

But Bro, who are the end losers here... if we continue in this dilapidated condition for many more years can we blame anyone.. Can the present government say anymore that they are different from its predecessor.. AK antony was a silent man who stopped everything.. Our present guy talks a lot but end result is perhaps similar... i was reading in news articles how so much and so many deals are approved by DAC but requisite RFP/real progress is almost negligible.. So are going to live in a window dressing country forever? Will IAF have to be admitted to ICU for this plaguing disease of no progress no clarity no solution for new squads?

. . . .
When the fanboys were saying India can produce 30 odd Rafales per year and the said 30-36 rafales will be inducted by 2018 I told them they were delusional and they started trolling. This kind of bureaucratize red tape is exactly the reason why the Rafales will not be inducted before 2020. Given the red tape and teething problems perhaps the deal will be permanently scuttled. The 36 odd aircraft are nothing but a face saving gesture.

As for those talking about "kick-backs". Do not slander without proof.

LCA is a 3rd gen obsolete aircraft whereas Rafale is a proven 4.5 gen aircraft. Rafale is head and shoulders above LCA and that is something every guy in IAF knows.

3rd gen aircraft is already obsolete in 2015, but because of political ego India will continue with the garbage called LA which will probably be inducted in 2020-25. By that time it will be a flying antique. While the rest of the world is building up on 5th gen fighters India is putting up with the LCA. Post 2020 India will work on LCA Mk2 which heaven only knows when it will be inducted.

But let the fan boys feel free to dream.

Poorly structured article. No research went in...

But bro one thing in reality is properly structured in mind of every indian why the time of 3 and half year and still no where near the signing of deal ?

don't know... which is a valid answer.

I am sure no one twiddling their thumbs. There are immense stakes on both side, on the the ones that are spending and the ones that are selling. the amount is no joke. In my field I deploy almost all my resources for a million dollar capex account - which is a paltry sum compared to this.

There are quite a few hurdles by the route taken for the process of acquisition. Now if this was from beginning a MKI styled deal, then it would have been simpler, easier and much more less press would have gathered- like the KrivakIII - Talwar deal... Signed on dotted line and done....

The military and the common man whose security is put at risk because of these clowns.

Can the present government say anymore that they are different from its predecessor..
It doesn't look drastically different, does it?

Our present guy talks a lot but end result is perhaps similar...
My thoughts exactly.

i was reading in news articles how so much and so many deals are approved by DAC
And this is the joke of it all, his ONE noteworthy achievement to date has been getting the DAC to meet on a monthly basis and getting more DAC clearances out of the door but, you know what, this means NOTHING. The DAC is NOT the final authority on procurements, the deals STILL have to be cleared by the CCS and when is the last time they met and cleared anything significant? The AH-64E,CH-47F, A330 MRTT, S-70B, MGS, Rafale, etc etc deals are STILL PENDING.

So what is the end result? A lot (a terrible amount) of hype and hysteria but little tangible gains- if any.

OROP is still nowhere in sight, the three new proposed tri-service commands are still on the drawing board and the defence procurements are almost non-existent.

.
Lol
I think next month after that crash PAF will become superior to IAF.
Yeahhhhhh:yahoo:
choty soch waly Insan, I was talking about IAF which pressurize MOD to fast-track procurement of jets by crashing old jets and sometime new jets..
