Mix and match of too many aircrafts... Mig-29, Mirage-2000, Tejas, SU-30, Jaguar, Rafale, Mig-21. It gives options to compliment strengths and weaknesses but also creates a pudding.

India really does not need Rafale at this time. The aircraft that needs replacement is Mig-21 which is single engine and India has more then 400 of them.
They need to buy a single engine aircraft along with local production of Tejas and need to do it quickly. Getting Rafale was a stupid decision in the first place as they already has SU-30 and Mig-29 (dual engine).
