R&AW chief visits Naypyitaw in Myanmar.
New Delhi (Mizzima) S. K. Tripathi, the chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Indias foreign intelligence agency, visited Naypyitaw on Monday, the state-run newspaper New Light of Myanmar said on Wednesday.
Lieutenant General Hla Htay Win of the Ministry of Defence met with S. K. Tripathi. There was no statement about what was discussed.
Also present at the meeting were Major General Kyaw Swe, Major General Thura Thet Swe and other top military officers.

Although the relationship between India and Burma is friendly and diplomats from the two countries often visit each other, it was the first visit of a top intelligence officer from India.
S. K. Tripathi has been the RAW chief for two years. Among the Indian intelligence agencies, RAW focuses mainly on international affairs. It was formed after the poor performance of Indias Intelligence Bureau in the Sino-Indian war in 1962 and the India-Pakistan war in 1965.
On Tuesday, the Indian Ambassador to Burma, Dr. Villur Sundararajan Seshadri, met with Home Affairs Minister Lieutenant General Ko Ko and Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Myint Hlaing in Naypyitaw, according to the newspaper.
