On the other hand the man was an ex minister, so saluting is NOT against the protocol anyway. Pakistani officers also salute their Indian counterparts during flag meetings etc. It's standard practice.

Whoever said this is WRONG and i strongly condemn any such action against the soldier. Since the report was posted by an Indian member and there was no source of news given so i assumed that it is from Indian media.
Furthermore, the past record of Shiv Sena dose not help much either to take some optimistic approach. You admit it or keep on arguing just for the sake of it is a different story altogether!
