Quetta Express named after Akbar Bugti

I now prefer that PMLN negotiates as much as it can and reduce the number/ groups as much as it can before starting the operation. That is the PMLN official stance, some PMLN supporters might have a different opinion. TTP has been hitting civilian for too long so its understandable people want it to end as soon as possible.

But Baluch and TTP are not the same thing, Baluchs have been exploited there is no doubt about it. Plus many of them are willing to operate within the constitution as democratic forces. TTP is a whole different ballgame, my fear is that after American withdrawal Taliban in Afghanistan might start helping them which will make it impossible to tackle the issue (Considering the type of border we have with Af)

BLA is funded by India and they have smuggled heavy weapons via Afghanistan. Hell their leader Brahamdagh Bugti is sitting in Afghanistan. BLA is killing innocents in Baluchistan and they are attacking army since quite a while. They are literally in a war against Pak Army and they have published a lot of crap at internet, there are videos in which they attacked Pak Army. So how TTP and BLA are different? Both are terrorist organizations, both have declared war against Pakistan. Then why on earth when PML-N talks with BLA its right, but when PTI talks about peace negotiations with TTP then its wrong? Hypocrisy?

.
I would like to see @irfanBaloch's opinion about this. But I agree that the PMLN is indeed trying to court BLA. PMLN also courted the more dangerous Lashkar E Jhangvi and fought the election together with them. It is extremely sad that our political parties seek to align with some of the most dangerous militant groups in the country. PPP too had an alliance with LEJ and before that with Mian Mithoo, the person responsible for forcibly marrying Rinkle Kumari a poor Hindu girl to a Muslim.

We need to eliminate terrorism in Pakistan. BLA will disappear quickly if we concentrate on developing our regions.

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has renamed the Quetta Express as Akbar Express in honour of the late Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. The move coincides with the 7th death anniversary of Akbar Bugti, who was also the chief of the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP). Bugti was killed in an operation ordered by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in August 2006.

Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq, while paying tribute to the late Baloch leader on his death anniversary, said the announcement had been made to acknowledge his efforts for democracy. “The train has been named after Akbar Bugti in recognition of his services to this country and for democracy,” he added.

“Bugti remained a real democratic leader and served on key political slots during his life,” the minister said.

Referring to the controversial military action ordered by Musharraf, he said matters were dealt with force during dictatorship.

“The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has always opposed the use of force as it is not a solution to any problem,” Rafiq said, adding that the government was making an effort to listen to the voice of the neglected segments of society.

The railways minister said that the PML-N government would soon approach the people of Balochistan for reconciliation and negotiations.

So PML-N acknowledging enemies of state who literally declared war against state. First they joined hands with BLA during elections. Then they did nothing when when BLA attacked Jinnah Residency, and now this. Great going indeed. :pissed:

Trying to bring angry Baloch people into mainstream will be indeed good step, but do you think renaming a train at the name of a controversial figure like Akbar Bugti will do any good? Why Govt don't start with empowering them more with more resources and focus on their real issues to start with?

My dear you are right but there are two things Empowering the the people is one & the feeling of empowerment is another.....after 18th constitutional amendment they have all the necessary power to govern their province......... but you can easily experience Baloch perception of political & administrative conditions in Balochistan.......We have to do "some extra" to normalize the situation in Balochistan

BTW Akbar bugti became a "controversial figure" in Musharraf Government......"who is now himself is a controversial figure"....... issue of Balochistan is a political issue from day one.......so let the political forces resolve it......for "other Baloch elements"...... separate strategy could be adopted, by isolating them from the core of Baloch society.......

Thank God they did not change the name of airport. It would have been a sever blow to the government exchequer. PPP dolled out a lot. Yet, there will be a handsome amount wasted by change of this name. Just like Mr NS changed the name of PM Sect to PM Office. One sentence and there goes public money.

.
I'm not at PML-N's side but if you take this act in positive manner then maybe it would be shows you another side of coin.....

If they are giving message to offended balochis that they are also a part of Pakistan and Baloch nationalist leaders had played important role in struggle of freedom and respectful for all of us . So what's wrong in it.

Trust me nawaz will lose his credibility as a PM of Pakistan very soon, all know the reality of Akbar Bugti and yet they are acknowledging him as martyr and the one who did lot for democracy, reality he was an enemy of state and the one who supports him or trying to keep his name alive by such moves is also an enemy of state.

what the hell is democracy, do we care about it, hell no, lets first make our self stable economically, and in every aspect of life which a normal citizen can dream of, what a person will do with a democracy who don’t even have an electricity and basic needs of life. Shame on those who are happy with this democracy but forgot the real challenges we are facing as a nation.

its a time that we should forget benazir, buggti, zia, and bhutto, it’s time to move on to accept the outer world challenges, alas our politicians will accept each other challenges and fight with each other and are happy to be known as puppets of their foreign masters, as a nation we lost our respect and dignity due to our these politicians and leaders.

No, please enlighten us.

A traitor in eyes of some people is a hero for many others.

Good move by govt. its all musharaf fault and he should be punished
Nice move to bring our unhappy friends in national fold so they can not be played by foreign forces against Pakistan

What about Jinnah whose wanted Pakistan to be a modern democratic nation? You have no right to declare anyone enemy of state, thanks to one martial law after another some 70 years have gone by and no one still knows how to run this country. Army got some 30 years to rule this country, what could they achieve? It is due to these Martial Laws that today Taliban are also using force to establish their nutty state within Pakistan. You expect people to respect the constitution when every dictator starting from Ayub to Musharraf have been mocking the constitution?

Thank you but its Jinnah's Pakistan. We have already been sold 'Islam ko Khatra', Pakistan ko Khatra too many times, PMLN has been elected by the people of Pakistan and it will complete its tenure, Public will decide whom they want to lead this nation in 2018. We are not going to get in the endless circles of Martial Law > Democracy > Martial Law.

Akbar Bugti has supported Pakistan on many occasions & he show anti Pakistan attitude on other occasions. IMO 'Bugti Express' would've been more better name than 'Akbar Express'.
