In the Qur'an it says that you can hide your faith if you fear for your life.

If you are referring to 16:106, then that is only a shia interpetration and that too restricted at fear of death. Not as a means to form a hidden society and take over the world like some elders of zion conspiracy where Obama being a secret Muslim is brought up.

Close to 90% of the Muslims are sunni where this is not acceptable theologically. This doesn't mean ofcourse that some muslims might have done so for example under the Spanish inquisisitions when large scale Muslim and Jewish killings were perpetrated by the Conquistadar forces

I ask the question to clear up confusion in my mind on if Obama was a Muslim who converted to Chritianity.

According to the Islamic law, every child is born a Muslim, but it's his or her parents that raise them up to be a Christian or something else.

However based on your question, the answer is that Islam isn't inherited. Islam isn't like Judaism in which case if a child's mother is Jewish then he or she would be considered Jewish. Islam is a belief & most of its followers do not have similar origins as is apparently the case with Judaism.

A Muslim is one who believes that there is no God but Allah & Muhammad is His messenger. Thus, even if a child's parents are Muslims, he or she will not be a Muslim if he or she does not believe in what I stated earlier.

Child is always born as a Muslim regardless of the family he belongs to. So for example if a child dies in early age, he will enter the paradise without any question. The child remains a Muslim/sinless until he is mature enough to distinguish between right and wrong.

There is no Muslim gene that he can be born with.

A person is a Muslim when he or she accepts Islam. If he at any time believed in words "There is no deity, but Allah and Mohammad is the Messenger of Allah" then he was one. Good luck in proving belief.

There might be some investigation you may apply. For example if he did pray in a mosque there might be some evidence to this. Then age would be a factor.

He stayed with Soomro in Pakistan during his college days. Soomro can shed some light on this.

I think you guys should stop pushing the issue, hes become the most violent President since... since God knows when to prove a point that hes not with the Muslims.
