Hello

I have been trying to get data to estimate the Chinese investment in Pakistan. We all know CPEC is just a corridor laying foundation for future but the real monster (worrying factor for our neighbours) lies in the abundance of Chinese investment across Pakistan.

So if someone can please highlight as many projects as possible being funded by China as not part of CPEC, It will be highly appreciated. I will later come with a detail article of something I have been trying to write since months. I have got enough information in hand but it will be useful for me if I am able to get the list of such projects somehow

The example of Chinese Investments (onging projects, recently completed or proposed and awaiting to happen in near future)

  • Karachi Nuclear Power Plant
  • Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3, 4 & 5
  • Some Hydropower projects if you can provide any information as not part of CPEC
  • Transportation projects except Orange Line as part of CPEC
PS: The Karachi Nuclear Power plant Unit 2 of 1100MW itself costs around $10 billion dollars and the Unit 3 is likely to cost even more. The same is true for Chashma Nuclear Power plant Unit 5, I know some hydropower projects worth billions of dollars and they all are not part of CPEC etc.

So any detail about foreign investment will be highly appreciated

Anybody?

Thanks

I am sorry, I do not want to discourage you but as I said I was talking about Non-CPEC projects.

I already have that list in hand and in fact got more information than mentioned on that CPEC website such as terms and conditions of various loans of certain projects. The idea is that Media is criticising everything without doing any research whereas the entire list of projects are available in public since over 1 year or so as well as the terms and conditions of loans etc. This is the list of energy projects created by me as an example and I have also got information about expected date of completion and some other technical aspects.. I want to highlight different aspect of the project which is often neglected by the Media

Nice info. But you should have at least redacted your name. :D

Plus the fact that you are using fake Excel. :D

it's just one of the raw files out of many

The information is also available on CPEC website (cpec.gov.pk)

As mentioned by another respectable member...

The only thing that lacks on CPEC website is, proposed projects not yet part of CPEC and projects like Karachi-Peshawar ML-1 being fully funded by China and ADB costing over 8 billion dollars instead of originally planned part funding over over 3 billion usd or so (effectively rising the figure of 46 billion usd to 51.5 billion usd...)

This thread is not about CPEC btw :D

Having enough power, the whole Pakistan will be a huge machine to produce goods, services and intelligence.
