Qatar's boom in the Aughties was driven solely by the rising prices of their Off-shore Gas.

With the US now introducing Fracking for Shale-gas to the rest of the world, Gas prices will go down and Qatar's boom with go down with it.

May be because Qater was the one who destabalized Libya , and if Libyans decide to take revenge over Qater then well they have Egypt as buffer zone ..

Egypt does not get along with many arab nations like Algeria , Libya etc .. no one likes Egypt

I don`t know they history but Qater financed the recent Libyan revolt

I read some where there Qater ships or plans to ship gas out to other countries not sure of Pipeline from Qater to Egypt on the cards
