Why? For the Kuwaiti Mubarak port?

I dont know thats why im asking,
Others mentioned the railway connection of GCC joining Iraq-Turkey-Europe for the faw/mubarak port ?
Or pulling Iraq closer to GCC/US alliance ?

Why not? that would be great for both of you. Just picture a GCC with Iraq, Yemen and Jordan..

It has benefits for both sides

Iraq however rejected the invitation, probably because the tensiosn are high, GCC is an alliance and if Iraq joins this alliance it will create enemies.
Staying neutral with all sides is forced on Iraq until it controlls its airspace atleast.

But even if Iraq accepted, I can not imagine them trusting this "shia safawi gov" as they call it.
Sounds unrealistic.

Back to the Qataris. What do you think about Qatar's geopolitical role in the region? Do you think that It tries to counter Iran?

Qatar is honest in strengthening Arab unity and being pro people, and it thinks the most viable way to accomplish that in the long run is through MB as it's well organised and popular. And that's the problem as other regimes follow & believe in other means to strengthen Arab unity, and find Qatar plan a danger on their countries. So, they are willing to reach the same goal but through different means which would create a strife between the monarchy block and MB block and that's what is going to happen. Exactly like it was between Monarchy block and Socialist block in the 60s. Qatar by it's agenda is going to hurt Arab relations among eachothers even more. They get to impose what's right in their eyes on others who don't agree, especially when it's being done through media led propaganda which far from the truth.

I tend to look at Qatar as a country trying to help people more than their Governments. However, they gained a negative reputation out of AlJazeera :p

People often muck them for the way they are advocating for reform. At the same time, AlJazeera irritated the Americans! It doesn't support what they are doing :D particularly during the occupation of Iraq.

BTW, you once asked me why do I like General Kayani, right?
What I like the most is his personality. He's very charismatic and the Pakistanis trust him more than the PM. I would recommend doing some readings on him.
