Putin orders combat alert for Northern Fleet

President Vladimir Putin has ordered the Northern Fleet, certain units of airborne forces and the Western Military District to be put on full combat alert from 05:00 GMT on Monday, TASS reported. Snap checks will serve to evaluate the capabilities of the Northern Fleet to ensure Russia’s military security in the Arctic, according to Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

A Kirov class cruiser (AAW + ASuW), a Sovremenny class destroyer (ASuW/Fire support) , a Udaloy (605, same as in earlier movie, ASW), one Akula (SSN). Add to: a Delta III/IV (SSBN) and couple of Grisha's (ASW).

Destroyer 610 Nastoychivyy is the Baltic fleet flagship. It is not Northern fleet. It is one of 3 Sovremennys remaining in the Russian navy, the other ones respectively in Northern and Pacific fleets..

Together with the pair of Neustrashimyy class frigates, four 20380s and some Grisha's, those are the main surface units of Baltic fleet.
