E-Khidmat Center will be the first citizen facilitation center in Punjab to be launched in Rawalpindi soon. The facilitation center will be a one-window automated operation for government services with the guaranteed turn-around time and tracking of applications. It is said to simplify many of the government services with lengthy procedures thus making it easy for citizens to access these services.

Previously, an application had to go through a series of tasks, most of which were being handled manually. The application process flow at e-khidmat has deleted a lot intermediate variables making the process simple and digital. An applicant will submit the documents to a greeting officer who will check and guide the person about the document completeness. The applicant will collect the token from the Q-MS while CSR will process the documents and send to the relevant department. Finally, the documents will be processed and prepared within the defined time and delivered to the applicant.

Citizens will not have to visit the facilitation center to check the application status, rather they can check it online through the website, helpline (0800-09100) or Asani Markaz app.
Dr. Umar Saif, Chairman PITB and Vice Chancellor ITU, shared this news hours after the rumors of his resignation surfaced at several private channels. However, it was found out later that his resignation was not accepted for the third time. It seems that all is well now and Dr. Umar Saif has decided to take matters through to the next level. We are hoping for big plans since he hinted a future project in another Facebook post which was to develop Lahore along the lines of Silicon Valley.

Good, character certificate is a pain in the backside to get! This is a good step!

The relevant departments should have some staff in the same building so that the documents can be returned quicker. At least for basic certificates and attestations there should be no need for long delays.

Also safety and privacy protocols need to be strict with special focus on back ups to information being secured and properly encrypted and only accessible with court permission or client approval.

Why investment only in Punjab. Why not give some money to Karachi to have two N-Power plants of 1.5 GW each in the East and West Zone of Karachi that will help industries to grow and for residential use. More over, allow private local companies to setup BRT and Subway Railway system in Karachi.

Are you saying that they are investing in Punjab more than Sindh??? These are provincial level projects, if Sindh or KPK have better budget, revenues and policies, the World Bank and others will work with them as well. There is no rocket science. Plus, these projects aren't being implemented by taking the money away from Karachi's electric nuke plant construction project. Two VERY separate things you decided to mix up.

Also, local companies can invest in BVT and Subway.....they don't need to stop this project to make that happen.

Karachi generates 75%+ of revenue for Pakistan still. I think Govt. if cannot invest on its own then they should ask private sector to do so in N-Power plants. I am sure many will come forward.

Make an RFP, for BRT and Subway trains in Karachi to private sector.

The RFP's and other bids are opened for everyone to submit a bid too. Your private sector has the money I think, but lacks the technological edge for advance tech projects. What they should do, is to setup partnerships with tot at the end like how Indians do it. That way, you get the advanced rail system, subway and all, but at the end, your local business can manage it and can further develop future projects.
