Not sure how well Ali Zafar sang, only pashtun bhai can tell us.

Back in the day, Raheem Shah sang this song in punjabi and I can say his pronunciation is pretty good. He is pashtun himself.

Only a complete bufoon or hypocrite would cite a generlly racially homogeneous area for him as having less racism.
That’s like a pathan saying there is no racism against him in Mardan or a Sindhi saying there is no racism against him in Larkana.

There is no shell shock other than
A. The original singer didn’t cite his origins (unless you want me to find out since I used to keep in touch with him at times)
B. Needing to insert this as an expression of love is also relevant. Plenty of expressions of love going in both before and after marriages in inter ethnic marriages and in most urban office and education environments. The issue of the lack of love is in political delineation along with institutional racism through ethnic manipulation and quotas.

That was funny though:

“I am a Punjabi and I live with ten Punjabis and not one of them was racist to me!”
(Although five of us are Rajpoots and we don’t think those Arains are trustworthy)

The song however isn’t a bad take if not for the video…that and someone should try bibi sheerin as well. The number is played all the times in weddings and needs some update.
This absolutely does not happen, I can assure you if that

Ah, Gul Panra. I watched her interviews when she became famous. She is sweet of form and attitude and sensible. One of my future wives when South Asia has a common progressive political system and I will be able to travel to her Peshawar as easily as I would to Calcutta. *sigh*

And I must say that Ali Zafar is charming and a good actor as always.

And the song is good.

everytime this song is playing my son smirks and he gets a smack on his head and than we both grin lol

LOL, what have you taught your son ?
