Establishment is basically the Sharif and Zardari network in banking, army and judiciary. They have 30 years of corruption to hide and they will do everything they can to keep it hidden. Pakistan is under occupation and its being kept poor on purpose so they can consolidate their control.

They know Pakistanis are genetically compliant so mix in an existential threat of India and terrorism and get just the right amount of extremism and the public is putty in their hands. Notice how the establishment drink whisky, smoke cigars and play golf are the polar opposite of the society they have designed.
