Punjab Home Department approves deployment of Rangers at key locations

LAHORE - Punjab Home Department has approved the deployment of Rangers at key locations of the province.

According to Dunya News, Rangers have been deployed at the Governor House and Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Rangers have also been posted at Civil Secretariat, Punjab Assembly and other important places. A notification has also been issued by the Punjab Home Department.

After issuing the notification, the Punjab Home Department stated that Rangers were being deployed in view of possible rampage concerns while Rangers have been hired for three months.

Earlier, a violent clash that erupted between hundreds of lawyers and doctors left scores of people injured when the charged lawyers stormed into the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and broke windows of the emergency ward and several vehicles parked nearby.
