Punjab Govt secretly imposed 14% tax on Internet

So after a drama of over 3 months and several u-turns on new With Holding Tax on all sorts of internet services, Govt has finally imposed 14% tax this month.

A couple of months ago, Punjab Govt announced 19.5% tax on internet services, but after a major uproar at social media Govt had to take back the decision. Then again Govt tried to push for 15% tax on internet last month but decided against it last month.

However, this month a W.H tax of 14% has been imposed on all sort of internet services quietly, even after several insurances from CM Shahbaz Sharif that no such tax is going to be imposed. Looks like they've imposed the tax on national level this time instead of only Punjab..

What is the speed you people are getting after paying 2000 Rs ? First of all the cost itself is very high then 14% tax on it.

PMLN is doing media propaganda about economy boost.. truth is that they are getting $5Bn loan from IMF a years and god knows where is it being spent and next is imposing HUGE taxes on poor consumers since spineless PMLN can't confront big business giants..

The new internet taxes imposed in July are as follows

Provincial Witholding Tax: 19.5%
Federal Witholding Tax: 14%

The Punjab govt relieved provincial tax but Federal Witholding tax was NOT relaxed despite promise from Finance Minister

WoW, economic reforms? Like tax on foreign remittances that are less than 20,000 Rs? These aren't economic reforms, this is a clean chit to big fishes and more like anti poor reforms. A laborer working his arse off in scorching heat of Middle East, sending money to his families back home for monthly house hold expanses, is going to pay tax but a business man who sends in millions is left untouched.

Economic reforms = Ishaq Dar's ugly fat butt..
