PTM's Arif Wazir dies in Islamabad hospital after gun attack in Wana

Dunno who killed him but it will reignite the fire.

It should reignite the fire. Time has come to finish off PTM. We are not going to sit idle and let these foreign funded stooges run amok. The state is going to reinforce its power. Time has come to take charge. Anyone who sides with PTM is considered an enemy of the state. We as Pashtun do not recognise these foreign funded elements. Neither should the state.

Like it or not - it has substantial local support. Can't be too blunt.

We will see about that. I am also Pashtun. I know how many Pashtun support PTM. It is a tiny group among Pakistani Pashtun. Mostly are Afghan refugees in Pakistan or tribals who were killed in US drone strikes. You also have some ANP nationalists. These foreign funded elements receive support from US, India and Afghanistan. That is an open secret.

No country on the planet allows foreign funded elements to undermine the state. Pakistan should be no different. Deal with it.

Please change the thread title...theres nothing epic about the news....

Yeah nothing much. First I thought it's Ali wazir himself but turned out to be his relative. Anyways it might be warning to Ali Wazir by security forces, or he might be killed by ptm themselves because of possible defaction /mole within ptm for isi. Honor killing story looks like a cover up story being spread.

Arif Wazir was his right hand. If you say this is nothing much you don't know much about PTM.

ANP is much more mainstream than these guys.

ANP got its rear handed after PTI won the elections. The Pakistani Pashtun don't even spit on ANP. We know who these disgruntled Pakistan hating elements are. Their beloved Bacha Khan was an ardent Pakistan hater. They learnt to hate Pakistan from their ugly leader Bacha Khan. Another congress party lover who got a humiliating burial in Afghanistan. PTM consists of disgruntled ANP elements. ANP is an extension of Indian congress party.

I was referring to their ideology not popularity. PTM should be ignored because they devour attention, especially after clashing with state elements. That in turn gives boost to their narrative.

That's why that tiny group abandoned them and is supporting ptm now. Even in Balochistan and Sindh you will find hardcore nationalists having anti Pakistan views. But they are indeed in very less numbers over the years. In 80s, some Sindhi nationalists were poster boys for anti Pakistan nexus group but they were defeated by isi. After 9-11, it was some Balochis, but again they too have been largely neautralized now they are pinning their hope on these ptm.

CIA headline incoming:

Gunmen Critically Injure Pashtun Rights Activist In Pakistan's Tribal Areas
May 01, 2020 20:00 GMT
By RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal

Unidentified gunmen have critically injured a prominent ethnic Pashtun rights activist in an attack in Pakistan's South Waziristan tribal district.

Sardar Arif Wazir, one of the leaders of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), was traveling by car in the city of Wanna when gunmen opened fire from another vehicle, RFE/RL’s Radio Mashaal reported late on May 1.

He was rushed to a hospital in the city of Dera Ismail Khan.

The attack comes after Pakistani police arrested Wazir on April 17 for delivering an "anti-Pakistan" speech during a recent visit to Afghanistan. He was released on bail two days before the attack.

Mohsin Dawar, a member of Pakistan’s lower house of parliament and a prominent figure in the PTM, accused “state-sponsored militants” of carrying out the attack.

“The masters of the attackers should know that bullets, injuries, and prisons can't weaken our resolve,” he wrote on Twitter.

There was no immediate response from the government. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The PTM has campaigned for civil rights for Pashtuns, the country's largest ethnic minority, since 2018.

The group has attracted tens of thousands of people to public rallies to denounce the powerful Pakistani Army's heavy-handed operations against militants in tribal regions that have killed thousands of Pashtun civilians and forced millions more to abandon their homes since 2003.

The PTM has been calling for the removal of military checkpoints in tribal areas and an end to "enforced disappearances," in which suspects are detained by security forces without due process.

Pakistan's government rejects allegations that its security forces and intelligence agents are responsible for forced disappearances.

Since the movement was formed in January 2018, international rights groups say authorities have banned peaceful rallies organized by the PTM and some of its leading members have been arbitrarily detained and prevented from traveling within the country. Some members have also faced charges of sedition and cybercrimes.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has said the authorities have made allegations of anti-state activities “an expedient label for human rights defenders, particularly those associated with the PTM."

Arif Wazir, a leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), died in Islamabad on Saturday after being attacked a day ago by unidentified assailants outside his home in Wana, South Waziristan.

Wana Station House Officer Usman Khan confirmed Wazir had passed away after being shifted to Islamabad for treatment.

According to an official, on Friday Arif Wazir was strolling outside his residence in Ghwa Khwa, near Wana, when armed persons opened fire from a moving vehicle. The official had told Dawn that Arif Wazir received life-threatening injuries.

He was initially admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Wana, but later shifted to an Islamabad hospital.

Arif Wazir is the first cousin of MNA Ali Wazir.

Seems like major cleanup. A tick pressed in Sweden, a rat caught in Iran, some snakes diced in Afghanistan. Next should be Hussain haqqani in Newyork.
I will say, good work boys.

Splendid work. Ramadan brings a lot blessings.

For me the most important part is how the American deep state is going to react after such losses. Remember that the US deep state has invested a lot of effort in bringing such anti-state groups to the forefront. They will count this as a big loss.
