PTM calls off Eid protest, vows to avoid using anti-army slogans in gatherings

I'm fine with the Jirga decision, but certainly more than skeptical of whether the PTM will actually follow through with its commitment to not attack the Fauj and Pakistani State on social media and elsewhere.

As the adage goes, 'trust but verify'.

how does a protest against the killing of a Pashton in Karachi by a police encounter specialist with PPP backing turned into a fault by Pakistan army and protest against check posts in tribal areas is beyond me

I have not heard much about the relatives specially father attending these protests against the army he is mostly busy at the courts . its impressive how PPP managed to deflect all the attention from its uniformed thug Rao Anwar and his suspicious encounters in Malir area to Pakistan army hundreds of miles away as both the organisation and location has no correlation to actual incident apart from the fact that the aspiring model came from tribal areas to Karachi NOT to escape Pakistan army operations but to pursue a modeling career and/ or livelihood

well army can hang rao anwar and arrest zardari for protecting rao anwar that would be a good way to stop these ptm protests! but not happening partners dont hang or arrest each other!

Has any one ever heard of economy of terror? Basically why PTM is protesting is that their business are being shut down by border wall and check posts. These people were heavily dependent on the smuggling and the strict control is making sure there is no illegal transfer of good from the border and thus their markets have gone empty of goods that were previously available via smuggling. They are support by elements of terror financing in Afghanistan as their economy also depended on smuggling trade. ISIS is a money generation based organisation and not a donation based organisation and strings of PTM can be traced back to them. They need no check posts open (porous) border and less army presence in the western border region to run their game. They cannot demand this directly so they are using indirect approach.

It’s not the Army’s responsibility to do either. The Army would be criticized by the same pseudo liberals bashing the Fauj in conjunction with PTM for even suggesting that it could take action against Rao Anwar and Zardari. The place for this is in the courts.

Yes they are going to bypass the terms at some point but on one thought it is not hard to defuse PTM if one can understand them better. If any poster following this PTM can post about the actual ground reality of this PTM organisation we can discuss it better and have a better understanding of PTM. This all PTM came out of the blue and we don't have enough text on them to make any conclusion.

there are few points which are clear but mush wider picture is needed on them.

1. PTM is anti army (check)
2. PTM declares it's self Pashtoon (check)
3. PTM has ties in Afghanistan (check)
4. PTM is foreign funded (check)

other than that not mush info is there. so we need to make a profile of them to understand them.

my above assessment was what I could conclude of them but I still feel it incomplete.

      Ma'am these R the people i interacted with. Most of the guys/ladies circled are the people who i had a word or two with, individually or as part of a grp.
