LORALAI - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said after coming into power his party would abolish military operations in Balochistan, adding that bullets do not solve problems.

Addressing an election rally at Loralai, he said PTI would transform the country into a welfare state, where justice would be dispensed without discrimination. He said local government polls would be held in the country as soon as possible. “We would not allocate development funds to any member of parliament but would empower local bodies,” Khan added.

The PTI chief said the biggest issue facing Pakistan is terrorism, which would be dealt with mutual consultation. He further said PTI would implement a uniform education curriculum throughout the country.Khan said people would lay the foundation stone of a “New Pakistan” on 11th May. He urged the youth to come out of their homes on election-day and cast their votes.

Meanwhile, talking to a private television channel, Khan said his party did not believe in personal attacks on opponents, but agenda debates between political leadership was a democratic tradition, followed in all democratic societies including western countries. He said he had invited Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif for such a debate, focusing on party manifestos, in compliance with democratic norms. He said PTI had, and continues to condemn terrorist attacks that killed innocent people. “We condemn violence against any political party and their workers,” he stated.

Responding to a question, Khan said he had offered his services for mediation to resolve matters with Taliban through dialogue, but the ruling elite in the previous government was not serious about his offer. The PTI chief said his party still believed in negotiation and political solutions to the plague of terrorism.Khan said his election campaign would gain further momentum as the election draws closer, adding that PTI will conclude its campaign at the federal capital.

PTI to stop operations in Balochistan

Balochistan today is filled with rented terrorists, fully supported by the enemies of Pakistan, these rented terrorists leaders are getting their orders, objectives & controlled scripts from their foreign masters.

I have no idea how the hell IK is going to solve Balochistan's rented terrorism problem.

I really hope we'll have peace all over Pakistan, but I highly doubt BLA and their external links, they won't let it happen. Lets see how things happen if PTI gets into power.

That would be a very bad move. I believe this is just election slogan and if PTI came to power they won't do it. It is not possible to throw away the gains army has made in the areas. This is just as if saying we do not care about the sacrifices made by the military and would give terrorists a free passage till Islamabad.

So PTI would just like to have civilization in Punjab and Sindh and interactive museums in the other two provinces? Why not just give the Afghans and other interested parties a much clearer signal.

What do you mean?

If Imran is suggesting to remove all army from Baluchistan what exactly are they hoping would be the future of these areas? Things will go back to the way they were? I do not think in 2013 that would be any sane minds assumption. Firstly that will be an impossible thing to have happen once he is in power so saying those things just makes him sound naive and unrealistic to me atleast.

Baluchis need to be brought into the main stream and this is what Imran khan is hitting towards. Army operations alone wont solve anything. People need to have a reason to disown militancy and this can be achieved through education, jobs and a decent living standard.

Lose lips sinks ships Khans sahib is digging wholes for himself deeper and deeper he goes.

You misread, he's not talking about a pull out but stoping ops. We need a political settlement.

even Ik said in one of his interviews that pakistan army itself want to get out of war... referring to kiyani's statement he emphasized this point that we should get out of US and what's wrong with political settlement?:what:

Okay. Like I said, lets hope he knows what he is talking about. These people do not understand the word diplomacy, they do not understand progress. There is no magic wand to fast forward that population 20 years so they can enjoy prosperity, these people want is in terms of instant gratification and if they dont get it they start throwing tantrums. Just like misbehaving children they need to be shown that its not okay to take candy from strangers and start playing cricket in the house. Imran Khan is living in a dream world if he thinks that he can stop the fighting just by promises alone. These operations are not done to kill innocent people but bad guys who have picked up weapons against the forces. Its always easier to kill innocent people, they dont need to plan an op for that.

Bombs for ANP, PPP and MQM, but "settlement" with the bombers - a deal for the darinday?

@forcetrip @muse

I share your concerns, however Imran is on record saying that 'Using the military ops is always there but as a measure of last resort.'

muse. PTI has strongly condemned attacks on those parties. We need to end active hostilities, calm things down and use force only when its really needee. COIN is a long painful battle, that is just a fact that has dawned on us. You are the one asking for 'local solutions' to prevent f.intervention.
