PTI MPA submits resolution to make hijab compulsory

Due process and rule of law go hand in hand. Laws that violate due process and equality themselves are the problem. What would you say about the following comment (not mine) as it relates to the topic of this thread?

"Nothing should be ever forced on women, be it putting the hijab on or ripping it off. Women has the right to practice her human and Islamic code of conduct the way she wants. Those who want to make it compulsory are wrong and so are those who want to make it illegal be it in any geographical location.

Pakistani society for women is about Mothers, Daughters, Sisters , Wives , Aunts, Grand Mothers and they enjoy a great deal of respect. Having said that they are not just whats stated above, they are human too and therefore are entitled to exercise free will regardless of what side of political or religious spectrum it might be.

In Pakistan, if a women wants to exercise hijab, no one should have any issues, if she doesn't no one should have any issues because the person who has the business with it is just that female herself, her and only her has the right to choose to exercise or not exercise hijab. Asking it to make it constitutionally compulsory is taking away the right of free will from Pakistani women."

What about a law that violates this concept of free will, and/or equality for all?


(BTW, these are the words of a person in PDF management who strongly supports PTI, the party that tabled this motion, or at least did so once upon a time.)

I wholeheartedly agree with what that member said and does not matter what party he or she is supporting.

And I am also a big supporter of the same when it comes to West and believe women should be allowed to wear whatever they want whether hijab/bura or bikini or a skirt. The west also should be nobody to impose ban on freewill of those women who want to cover themselves simple as that.

That is indeed true. And reason for hope that with its KPK record, PTI will do better in the next elections. Except that it is going to have problems in Punjab once again, I fear, with MPAs like the lady in question here.

In KP the party is coming up with many things which are not visible I mean not physical the big ones such a right to information, education reforms and many more while the common man votes on basis of physical projects mainly.

But still there are many such physical projects as well so I hope so the party get good vote in coming election. Besides other parties specially the PPP failed to make any impressive comeback.

It is sad that a party like PPP is falling down rapidly failing to get up.

Despite JI as co partner in KP with PTI, there had been no major forced suffocating law here that is very encouraging.

Today was the first day of the census started in Peshawar as well and It was quiet pleasant that the policemen accompany the group were so friendly while collecting initial data and dealing the household

There is no Hijab in Quran and Sunnah it is / was culture of Arabs, In Quran there is only advice for Momin women to wear Shawl or Chaddar while on move or out.
