That is good advice for both IK and the COAS at this point in time, it seems to me. What is telling to note is that IK was willing to extend the tenure of someone he calls a traitor, just to remain as PM.

This assumption is based on the optimistic outcome that PTI; a party which is full of members who were in the very same parties the PTI calls out, has members close to the powerful, has continually leveraged them for their own political gain and so much more. Is going to one day become the competent and decent government we deserve...
Realistically speaking, the odds of this is quite low looking at how things stand.

There are some really competent and hardworking PTI members, but unfortunately they get used in stabilizing things and tossed out for political expediency. Likewise with other parties.

So he was willing to accept who he considers to be a traitor in perhaps the most important post of all? That is discordant, totally, and does not support your argument that he wanted to extend the power of a traitor out of his concern for the nation. More like a quid pro quo to keep his ego appeased with the semblance of power.

If Imran Khan was a pawn, he would have given NRO and extended his tenure.

Pakistan under Imran Khan would not be a heaven in a day or 2 or even a decade, and that too is not a sure thing. It will be a long process. The best one could hope for is rule of law and an establishment that operates under the law and not outside of it. And then the next crop takes it from there.

One thing for sure is, Pakistan in its current form with crooks and their establishment handler at the helm is just waiting to fall off the cliff.
