انہوں نے گیارہ مئی کے عام انتخاب میں پہلی مرتبہ حصہ لے کر سیاست کے میدان میں بھی قدم رکھا۔ آزاد حیثیت میں صوبائی اسمبلی کے رکن منتخب ہوئے اور بعد میں تحریک انصاف میں شامل ہو گئے۔

فرید خان نے ہنگو سے جمعیت علماء اسلام (&#1601 کے مضبوط ترین امیدوار عتیق الرحمان کو شکست دی جو اس سے پہلے دو مرتبہ صوبائی اسمبلی کے رکن رہ چکے ہیں۔

I have sympathy for PTI's members in KPK because their Leadership has thrown their head into sand from Terrorists. They do not want to see terrorists, instead they want to give them respect.

Newly-elected member of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Farid Khan was shot dead in Hangu on Monday, Express News reported.
Farid had won the PK-42 (Hangu-I) seat as an independent candidate and had then joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

The MPA was shot dead near his residence close to Singair village, when unidentified armed men opened fire at his vehicle. Police said his driver and bodyguard sustained injuries in the gun attack.

Soon after the incident, security forces reached the crime scene and cordoned off the area.

Farid had won the elections as an independent candidate with 16,129 votes. His closest rival was Atiqur Rehman of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) who got 12,797 votes.


When Farid joined PTI, he had said he did so for the social welfare and goodwill of the area.

Farid also reportedly asked elders of the region if they had any reservations regarding his decision, but they agreed with his choice.

As an independent candidate, Farid said he would not be able to work for the development of the area the way he would be able to by associating himself with a political party that is in power. “People have given me their votes, and now I have an opportunity to serve them,” he added.
