PTI Councillor & Three ANP workers died in Armed Clash

MARDAN: A tehsil councillor of the PTI and three workers of the ANP were killed in an armed clash between members of the two rival political parties in the Khan Kotay area on Friday.

Witnesses and police officials said that supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Awami National Party exchanged gunfire after a dispute over hoisting of a PTI flag turned violent during a PTI rally in the area.

As a result of the firing, PTI tehsil councillor Mohmand Khan and ANP workers Ikram Babukheil, Qasim and Shah Jehan were killed.

A political rivalry was reported to be going on between the slain PTI tehsil councillor Mohmand Khan and Awami National Party district councillor Sardar Khan since the holding of local government elections in May last year.

Area people said that both leaders of the rival political parties belonged to Khan Kotay area.

The Hoti police have registered FIRs from both sides and are investigating.

Unbelievable.. Just a few days ago it was PPP pmln clash and now this. How can one throw their life away for a political parties. These C grade leaders don't care about you. They wouldn't wrinkle their clothes for you and you are giving your life for them. Good lord. Such obsession with political parties and leaders. For these people their political parties are more important than the country. We witnessed this before in 1971 as well.


Sad very sad. People must grow sense and understand that these third rated leaders and politicians that sit in the parliament are worth nothing.

That's the problem of our nation that people who doesn't support us are thugs and criminals.Same is case with PTI, yes the party is rising in ranks due to revolutionary slogans and using youth actively as done in the past by JI or PPP in 70's era.

But sad thing is apart from IKs good views his companions have questionable past and using same malpractices as others do. One example is of my own area where in municipal elections a person nominated by PTI is explicit example of a modern day Thug even condemned by own family. But though lost the elections yet got large number of votes only due to party affiliation. Such criminal minded people and few industrialists who are heavily financing PTI shall bring same malpractices as done by PPP and PML-N people.
