Again useless statistics. Birth rate in India is decreasing. Not just Muslim birth rate. And Muslim growth is still significantly higher than others.

Thing is Muslim birth rate is falling faster than the others (5% decadal drop in growth rate compared to 3% for Hindus roughly). They are hitting their stride in birth rate decrease. This means the % compositions will stabilise quite soon when they are below 20% decadal growth, and then even lower.

So no, statistics are not "useless". They clearly show trends.

That's not just in India but everywhere in the world.

Actually BD population growth and India's are about the same now, and BD is a muslim majority country:

But that hardly has anything to do with Assam. I think I read somewhere Muslim percentage in Assam went up by 5% from 30% to 35% from 2001-11. And it is still growing at a faster rate than the others? At this rate is it impossible for Assam to become Muslim majority with time?

I foresee it stabilising at around where it is now worst case scenario especially once the illegals are kicked out.

Muslims have historically constituted about 25 - 30% of population of Assam. A 5% jump due to largest birth rate difference window combining with illegal influx is not something that will sustain....given birth rates are falling across the board (with muslim birth rates falling faster given they are hitting/past their sweet spot in the demographic transition) and with strong action on the anvil for illegals (who happen to be mostly muslim).

Well there are Muslim majority countries like Bosnia and Albania with declining population. My point is not about that. I was talking about countries where Muslims are minority. And I think in those countries(most of those) percentage of Muslims are rising.

Bangladesh government as well as people respect India's border and their authority to deal with their internal matters. The good relationship between the countries should be preserved.

Well there are Muslim majority countries like Bosnia and Albania with declining population. My point is not about that. I was talking about countries where Muslims are minority. And I think in those countries(most of those) percentage of Muslims are rising.

That is a generalised phenomenon. In India's case it is very variable given there is no single profile of Muslim. Muslims in South for example have very low birth rates already.

If Muslim growth rate was increasing or staying high overall (to the past)....that would be cause for concern maybe....but it is clearly decreasing and decreasing faster than it ever has been. This is reflective of a stage 3 demographic transition. The lag seems to be around 20 years or so with the Hindus....which generally is the socio-economic lag overall for Muslims in India (given they are mostly concentrated in the less well off ganges valley).

But that means they are a group in transition and experiencing change...so that is a positive thing.

It will only strengthen as they educate better, continue to have fewer kids...allowing them to invest more per kid which will then continue and strengthen the cycle.

India should create separate identities for Bangladeshi pole vaulters. They should be allotted separate slums and ghettos so that some degree of check is there. Only the ones out of these breeding machines who manage to get educated should be given citizenship. These people manage to stay because they perform menial jobs at a much cheaper rate. Rickshaw pullers, labourers and sweepers. Also, Assam is not like the rest of India and violent riots are imminent like neeli.

India should give citizenship to Bangladeshi Hindus, Christians and Chakmas who escape from religious persecution...

North Korea? Tough to do business with them. That's Pakistan's forte.

Myanmar is a good country. We can collaborate with them. May be open the borders to each others' armed forces. I am sure the Myanmar army can help clean out garbage on this side of the border as can we, with their help on their side. Mutual assistance FTW.
