lol America has strictest tech export control rules. so forget LM will share any tech . they are offering to transfer their whole production line . SAAB will start another production line in India plus also help HAL/DRDO in technology(minus jet engine coz its American) that will be helpful in developing LCA mk1A version

well sometimes the hardest bargainers is the biggest source or goodies .... if im able to translate the proverb properli ... point is USA wants India as a ally and when it needs someone it is ready to share what we can absorb right now if we play it right we sure can absorb /get all kinds of weapons tech we want isntead of bieng over caustous for trivial things like outdated morals of NAM that have outlived there usefullness and never helped us .. think about it

You see the difference ?

Pratt & Whitney currently produces the F135 engine for the F-35 Lightning II. This proven fifth-generation engine was selected by the Department of Defense as the best engine for the F-35 and is more reliable and cost-effective than adding an unwanted alternate engine.

Pratt & Whitney’s other military engines include the F119 for the F-22 Raptor, the F100 family that powers the F-15 and F-16, the F117 for the C-17 Globemaster III, the J52 for the EA-6B Prowler, TF30 for the F-111, and the TF33 powering AWACS, Joint STARS, B-52, and KC-135 aircraft.

The F-35 includes three variants to meet the unique needs of the three branches of the U.S. armed forces as well as the international participants—the Conventional Takeoff and Landing (CTOL), the Carrier Variant (CV) and the Short Takeoff and Vertical Landing (STOVL). The F135 is the derivative of the proven F119-PW-100 engine, the technologically advanced turbofan engine exclusively powering the U.S. Air Force's F-22 Raptor. It features advanced prognostics and health management systems, and the engine is designed to significantly lower maintenance costs.

The Pratt & Whitney F100 is one of the world's safest fighter engines and has set the benchmark in the single engine fighter application. Now, with technology developed for the F119 engine powering the F-22 Raptor, and F135 engine powering the F-35 Lightning II being incorporated into new F100 engines, this propulsion system is providing advanced, dependable power for F-15 and F-16 aircraft worldwide.

Can you please grow up ?

Wishful thinking is not reality.

Who is more competent is not the question here, who is more willing is the right question. Then comes who CAN by law is the second question.

LM WILL NOT do it and CAN NOT do it. Best they can do is set up a screw driver production facility in India where all the parts will come from US vendors. That will be called 100% MII.

There is a lot of technology which they do not even share with the UK.
Everyone knows about the "Special Relationship" which exists between the two countries.
I doubt that You get a better deal on TOT than the UK.

TOT also does not mean that they will work with You on development of LCA Mk2 and AMCA.

Another proverb:
You can lead a donkey to the water, but You cannot force it to drink.

NATO means, north Atlantic treat organisation. Their is no room for an Asian in it.

What do you have to say about Turkey which is a Nato nation but is surely an Asian country.
Turkey is both European and asian.
NATO is anyway created as a counterweight to Soviet influence.
Russians have had ambitions to grab Turkish territory for at least 300 years,
so it is natural to ally themselves with NATO.
