In Bangladesh, keeping aside the religious reasons, usually it is difficult for young men to marry unless they are backed up financially and in other ways by his family. By that, you can guess that they are pretty well off. But not every guy is and thus, there is a long struggle to get a job and even if one does, they cannot make enough to convince anyone to marry off their daughter. Its very difficult. Even though Islam positions ones righteousness and Deen as the primary characteristics while determining marriage-candidate, there is always a popular concern of "what will you feed my daughter". Not denying that there are many families who follow this ruling but I wouldn't say its the norm.
Just curious though, is it the same in Pakistan? If yes or no, then why?
