Procurement of Battle Uniforms for Soldiers

Hi

Calling all ex / active serving military officers to please comment on your respective country's mode of procurement of uniforms for on-field service (COIN / Front postings / Sentry etc).

I am creating this thread to exactly understand how various armies procure uniforms. It is common knowledge that Indian soldiers who are posted on far off postings or on COIN missions often buy their own uniforms from designated shops (which often results in different camous / different color shades etc).

Is this general practice in other armies too ? Would be helpful if South Asians / Chinese could care to comment on this.
