New Delhi: After the protests in Tamil Nadu against Sri Lanka came to light, the pro-Tamil groups have now warned the Indian cricket team against visiting the Lankan turf to take part in the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup championship.
The Tamil chauvinists, on Wednesday, issued a warning to the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) against sending the Indian team to the island nation for the championship.
The Tamil protesters also held a demonstration outside the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai, while the cancer-slayer Yuvraj Singh was making his comeback after a haul of 10 months against New Zealand, late on Tuesday.
Theprotesters also disrupted traffic near the stadium in Chennai while the political parties in Tamil Nadu are yet to take a stand on the issue. The DMK chief M Karunanidhi had earlier said that sports and politics should not be mixed.
