Prime minister Gilani to be replaced by a more capable politician

ISLAMABAD: A recent yet unexpected turn of events has caused a massive change in midst of Islamabad. The country's prime minister is to be replaced by allegedly a more capable politician, Mr. Gilani has been Pakistan's prime minister for almost more than three years.

The Aiwan e Sadr (Presidential house) now sees a new era of change in politics as the latest move by the PPP comes at a time when Pakistan is engulfed in a series of troubles such as war, famine, and a severe shortage of food, industrial supplies and marketing with a collaping economic state. The move has been taken to account for covering up some of the most serious controversy built-up against the ex-Prime minister. Mr. Gilani has several serious corruption charges laid out against him, including embezzlement of funds, illegally extraditing public funds to foreign banks, and murder. His son also was caught while importing an expensive luxury vehicle. He was trying to have the duty charge on the vehicle to be dropped, when he was caught by the authorities and handed over to the legal prosecutors for processing.

By many, the move is perceived extremely dangerous as already fragile government of PPP is teetering on the brink of implosion. However, there is another view lurking that the move was done in a specific direction in order to cover up the tracks of the party due to serious controversies and corruption cases against the former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.

I think we need to replace the uslesss President then the Prime Minister. The PM has done a better job than Nawaz Shareef and Benazir.

Zardari, Rehman Malik are on the US payroll and are traitors to the country. Lets not forget that Rehman Malik for 6 months kept denying Black water operatives in Pakistan and then admitted it. And Zardari is the one who authorized Haqqani to issues visas without verification to thousands of CIA Agents. Ye ghadaar Pakistan ka cancer hain. Now people spying on PDF will have to translate the last sentence.

curious -if zadari stops taking aid and refuses to help the US would that regain the people's confidence - how is he doing on the economic front, seems like things are moving in the right direction? you need to have those tax shelter laws revamped regardless of whom is sitting on the top.

Prime Minister is the head of government.

President is the head of State.

What I cant believe is that he had the nerve to give kuwaiti authorities his personel account details as a place to put funds for flood victims. Anywhere else he would be tried for treason and hanged or put in prison for life.

Pakistan and India both have the same kind of parliamentary democracy inherited from the British. Application may differ but the structure is the same.

Taking democracy in isolation does not work. we need other strong institutions and we need to improve our literacy. The democracy introduced or based on western democracy in any event is alien to us. We need a number of 5 year programmes. Eliminate illeteracy etc. This all to managed by a numer of institutions that include but not limited to the judiciary the army etc. I mean what is the point of swinging from ppp to pnl when both have proved to be incompetent corrupt and undemocratic internally
