Preventing the Flow of High-End Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment to China

this is truly sad in a way.

Americans used to brag about themselves being the undisputed leader and #1 in the world.

Now they're bragging about a Taiwanese and Dutch company being #1 in the world.

A Taiwanese and Dutch company the US has by the balls. The US has ALL the leverage in the semiconductor industry and thats what ultimately matters.

.
China isn't going to surpass TSMC and ASML, it's going to do to them what Trump is trying to do to TikTok and Huawei. Only unlike the orange bozo, it'll succeed. It's not going to fight fair, it'll smash them over the head with a bottle.

Delusion is thinking the US has any way of winning this. It's already over; it was over the moment Nixon landed in China.

The only sewer is America - a sewer of pestilence and disease, now physical as well as cultural and spiritual. So what if China is behind by years? It has all the time in the world. It's your time that's running out.

More hot air, empty words, and wet dreams from Poobah.....second rate suits China well.

The owners of your country know better than you do. They don't think any of this is hot air, empty words, or wet dreams at all and their fear is palpable. Yours too.

When you have to beg to governments no to export and make change in establish laws that have not being changed since the cold war, that means the you dont have as much leverage as you think you have. I dont think the U.S. even have control even of their own companies. I dont think that Americans semiconductors companies are going to let themselves be destroyed, they could move out their research centers and manufacturing facilities to neutral countries.
At the end of the day the biggest loser as always will be your average American in this case engineers.

Oh, China is definitely a competitor. The problem(for you) is that the CCP will be discarded into the ash heap of history. Just like all the rest that challenged US.

:rofl::rofl:
Good god dude things must be really bad inside the United States right now. Chill out man you are reaching paranoia levels. :cuckoo:
I am starting to worry that this people could want to start a Nuclear Armageddon.

. . .
so this is atually a rant thread-in-disguise?
You don't know how our resident troll operates? All of his threads are rant threads - he's both completely obsessed with and scared sh*tless of China. This is his way of dealing with his fear, he'll clutch at any sign that China is even slightly inconvenienced like a drowning man clutching at a straw and spam it here like it means anything.

You know, @F-22Raptor, there's an irony to all this that just crossed my mind. I know (as do you, deep down) that China is fated to emerge victorious, but I hadn't anticipated that China would would Americans' money to do it. I'm sure that in your obsessive hunting for anything negative about China you've come across the phrase "STAR board" and know what it is. Take a look at what it's been doing recently and whose money is flowing into it. Americans are beating down China's door and begging to invest into the very companies that will put American hegemony in its long-awaited grave. The irony never fails to make me smile.:)

ASML holds about 90% of the EUV market, and ASMLs machines have a large amount of US sourced technology. China is nowhere close to competing with ASML. Not to mention the other monumental challenges the Chinese face.
No amount of Chinese PDF circle jerk or "China stronk!" will change the fact that the US has all the leverage in the semiconductor industry. It will take decades and a revolution in microelectronics for the Chinese to overcome that.

Like eldalmari said Sanctions on China usually have the opposite effect, they cause disruption but at the end of the day are futile in stopping China technological advance and usually end in a more self-reliant China. In the last few decades Chinese companies have give preference to U.S and other Foreign semiconductor companies because is easier, safer and allow then to generate profits faster but a the same time it create a vicious cycle in which local semiconductors companies and startups do not growth because if nobody buys your equipment or software you can't make better equipment or software. The irony is that by allowing selling of semiconductors in China the Americans have contained the Chinese semiconductor industry. Now things have definitively change, now is a matter of life or death for some companies.
When your life is at stake, it's amazing what you can do.

. .
The more sanctions USA applies, the weaker it gets in future. China is not Iraq or any other country that will capitulate. Actually, its already too late for USA to take this course.

.
China will and can be self-sufficient.
All semiconductor manufacturing equipment (SME) made in China. Go cry.
