From today, Google will ban RT and other Russian channels on Youtube in Europe.

RT is still working on Youtube here in Vietnam, at least for now. The ban seems to work only in Europe.

I would like our European / Western forumers to express their opinions about this movement, How do you think? Is this still considered press freedom in your eyes?

Would appreciate any feedback.

Noam Chomsky used to say that even when there is an illusion of freedom, the indoctrination is so strong and the incentives are so aligned toward conformist thought that people still blindly support US hegemony.

The hypocrisy has been SO blatant yet few in the West (other than some 'counter-culture' types, socialists, Muslims from war-torn countries, etc.) have been able to point it out. Right now, Harvard is flying the Ukrainian flag - an honor that the occupied Palestinians have never gotten. It's just ridiculous.

Up and waiting for posts from Western forumers.

Thanks.

Yes, there is a lot of freedom of press in the west, as long as tow the government line and push BBC, Fox and CNN regurgitated propaganda, otherwise suffer bans and censorship like the Iranian, Russian, Lebanese Al-Manar and increasingly Chinese media are finding out.

@jhungary @Vergennes putas of West. Come and peddle your bs here. Where you at?

Damn almost forgot @Hamartia Antidote
On second thought, I would probably just ask the mod to delete this post. I mean if you don't even know how to insult people correctly, you probably never will, so the schooling is most likely on deaf ear

Also, I am still awaiting on your "Argument" on why my estimation is BS. I am waiting. any day now, or maybe you are too busy to try to incorrectly insult people? JAJAJA

I think RT is probably the least of Russia concern.

They probably are thinking of how they are going to get food now Rouble to USD broke thru 0.009 (It was 0.012 before the invasion) but then that Russia TV anchor crying on live TV over the Italian seizing his Italian Mansion (With supercar in it, think is a Ferrari 458) is priceless. That would make good drama...

Add to the fact that we don't really have any genuine russian user or mod here.

Most are trashy western people over here and inferiority complex ridden non white minions to do their propaganda.

No direct answer but thank anyway.

Regarding the fall of rouble, i think it is only a short term phenomenon. In 2020, the renminbi depreciated from 6.3 to 7.1 during America - China trade war and now come back to 6.3.

The fall of Rouble due to this war is bigger, but as long as Russia can maintain its trade surplus, it can and will appreciate again after the war. The impact on living standard of Russian is minimal, as they can manufacture virtually almost everything locally, unlike Venezuela or Lebanon.

Well, the difference is RMB deflate because it is the government themselves are doing that, they want to have more share in the IMB currency basket.

Rouble deflate because of the currency situation, bear in mind, the backing of Russia currency is gas and oil trade (Which account for 36% of their total GDP, 47% of all Trade) Which are supposed to be untouchable because this is High Demand commodity. That is the reason why Rouble has been quite steady the whole year before the invasion at 0.012 or 0.013. But this drop would signal the defuncting of Russia Oil and Gas backing. And they probably can't find anyone who can pay for those Oil and Gas to cover what they had lost in EU, China can take some, but they can't take the entire EU consumption, (EU consume more oil and gas than China) And that is why the currency is tumbling, and that will not be changed unless Russia found something else to sell or found someone else to sell to. Which will be hard consider US, Canada, EU and UK is about 70% of world economy. Who can Russia sell to other than China? Syria? Kazakhstan? Or Venezuela?

That is why China is now calling Russia to mediate. Because doing that to Russia is not good for China.

As for RT ban, EU/NATO literally is at war with Russia, make no mistake, this war is not about Ukraine, but about NATO and EU, so I don't see no problem for EU or Anyone banning the Propaganda Media Arm of a Country, if US is at war with China, do you think they will let CGTN keep operating in US? Well, we will be consider lucky if they didn't round every Chinese up like they do with the Japanese back in WW2. (By the way, back in WW2, listening to Japan broadcast, ether Radio or TV is punishable by death in the US.) The same thing with UK and Germany.
