The president of the International Union of Lawyers (UAI), Jean-Marie Burguburu, was in Macau last Friday and Saturday to learn more about the preparations for the 57th World Congress of UAI, to be held in Macau between October 31 and November 4. Jean-Marie Burguburu travelled from France to Macau to promote the congress and is also visiting mainland China, Hong Kong and Japan, among other countries. In Macau, he attended in a cocktail party, which gathered around 200 people, including the Prosecutor General of Macau, Ho Chio Meng, other prosecutors of the territory, lawyers and trainee lawyers. This is the first time the congress will take place in Macau. It will draw lawyers from Europe, Asia, the United States of America and from all bar associations within the Portuguese-speaking countries.
