Good development @Imran Khan sb and needs to repeated at the Federal level too. Pakistan desperately needs a govt which enjoys popular credibility. Only such a govt can take the difficult steps needed to revive the economy.

The only worrying outcome here is that a precedent can be set now for elections being dragged beyond 90 days firewall set by the Constitution.
You can argue that the Supreme Court didnt give a blank cheque for this violation, as the final decision (whether to accept ECP's request to breach this firewall or not) still lied in the hands of the President. But still, this is a decision that can make one feel uncomfortable.

Other than that, this is the beginning of the end for PDM and handlers. Now the focus should be on 1. Securing a 2/3rds majority in every single general elections 2. Making sure all of PTI's jalsas do not have IK attend physically. The threat is too grave, evident from the bullet fragments still present in IK's legs

This election is already in the bag for PTI, IK's presence at jalsas is not needed. PTI and IK should play smartly.

This is what an internal auditing committee inside of PTI has to do. As they say after a bad political result, the out party does an “autopsy” of its performance and finds a way to do better. This is what the republicans did after they lost to Biden in 2020.

So this time around PTI can not afford to make amateur mistakes. They will not be forgiven by the public a second time around.

The most important thing will be Results Results Results within the frame work of Rule of Law.

I hope they try SMQ. If he is to be a potential future PM under PTI, the nation needs to see his performance in Punjab at the Governor/CM level. His foreign minister experience shows us his international and diplomatic skills, but we need to see his domestic skills.

Fixing the economy; up to and including tax reform: implemented new taxes on those that never paid before as well as shifting the spending form subsidies to productive uses and social services will have to be the primary goals of the PTI.

They weren’t able to do that in Karachi before, but if they can do it, I’m sure if Karachi is prospering they will more votes.
