Salaam,

I've been contemplating on the similarities between these two parties and to my surprise, some of the similarities are just shocking. there are things that really surprise and shock me sometimes when I compare the leadership, structure, methodology, religious and ideological affiliations/ and approach, and sources of funding.

Both these parties staunchly claim to be:

1) Secular (their entire leaderships are either staunch communists/socialists or extreme secularists)
2) Democratic (both Parties claim ownership on this)
3) Hate Islam at the Ideological level (*Hate* all maulvis and ulema, no matter how correct, good they maybe or what they stand for)
4) Both share a relatively very violent past with other parties (they simply cannot stand anyone in their ways)
5) In both Parties Shias have dominated pretty much all upper hierarchical leadership positions (They dont I hope represent the shia community in Pakistan as a whole...but I wonder why this is the case?? since Pak is a majority sunni muslim country )
6) Leaderships not only reside but also are educated and indoctrinated and openly financed by the UK

Last but not least both these parties are in bed with each other as we speak.

I'd like more valuable comments on this piece.

Thanks,

@FireFighter;

Looks like you are more of a fire-inducer than fighter.

These two parties have a past but they hate to look back as their past hurts everyone in the country. MQM has been successful in gaining few points since late 90s as they have been pro-active towards development of their stronghold areas. However they are still found hostile and often exhibit their volatile nature. PPP on the other hand had dark history 3 decades back and they are more democratic since the time of BB. Since Banezir Bhutto has departed and instead Sir Zardari, the Brainless Bullhit (you read bull$hit didn't you?) has taken over, party could go back to their history of terrorism once again.

Secularism is a bandage, a cover-sheet that they take over to hide their sins and un-Islamic character. It sounds funny that a party who is attempting to reach parliament of Islamic Republic of Pakistan is actually a "secular party". Nasty!

Yes PPP MQM and ANP are left wing parties
3) Hate Islam at the Ideological level (*Hate* all maulvis and ulema, no matter how correct, good they maybe or what they stand for)

I disagree
They just don't play politics on Islamic issues
