You are a educated person ma'm. You are rational and logical to understand the overall future scenario. These people think having more kids means more earning hands. They don't know they can raise their child/children if they stop at 1 or 2. Not to forget the social pressure of having a boy or more children due to rural mindset.

The education plays a huge role. In villages I still see people having 3 to 4 kids which means more stomach to feed until they earn some money themselves. This dependent generation will be our youth, but in the mean time this same generation is causing inequality, reason to commit crime etc. Child labor is the problem arises from this.

There is a contrast emerging in villages too because of education. The women associated with various economic and educational NGOs now know the benefit of having just two kids.

So its govt. responsibility to provide education to these people. If you go in rural India, there is no physical presence of teachers but on paper they are the most honest people in our country. Its govt. duty to make it sure that such teachers should be stripped of their degrees.

Another phenomenon I want to share is that few NGOs who think naxalite movement is good and its fine to take up arms and kill security personal (from my own personal experience) are increasing their depth in the society along with their numbers.

They use these NGOs to propagate anti-state feelings by INCEPTION of idea that its govt.'s fault which is cause of the misery's of these people rather than the people itself.

I have witnessed how these NGOs are influencing these people to go against the govt. and the results are showing now. These are highly educated people(NGO workers) who have become another headache of govt. coz they can't stop these people from spreading education at the same time can't stop them from taking advantage of these people.

As the population is growing, this idea has taken up pace. Now they are focusing on targetting govt. then doing what they were meant to do.

So, people might stop having more kids but then we will have a more anti-govt. society in every corner of our country irrespective of development work govt. try to do.

Making these people responsible their family size makes them easy target of extremist but non-violent ideology is a major side effect.

Unless and until govt. take strict measures to increase the efficiency of existing educational system and increasing its number, we are sending these poor people to become a future challenge. Govt. has to look at the bigger picture and indirect effects.

I would agree on NGO part but not the maoist ideology part.NGO i can say most of them sell poverty to make money.but their are those who actually work on the ground.But its the type-1 of ngos who get most of the govt.grants and foreign grant they make their money from these grants as happened in bhopal gas case.ngos ate up all the funds nearly $300 millions.now maoist are taking up bhopal gas victims case too.They are active in bhopal indore,bina babeena and sagar.And those ngos ie type -2 who actually work on ground dont get single aid they earn and help people with it.Type-1 are today sitting in NAC and lives in lutneys.

As for responsiblity vs education i think responsibility scores higher with adults even if they are uneducated.education can guide u to ur goal.

But in this particular case i think religion has also part to play as lady seems to be muslim.

WOMEN STONED TO DEATH FOR REFUSING SEX IN paKISTAN

ISLAMABAD: Hearing a suo motu case on Friday regarding the stoning to death of a woman in Khanewal, the Supreme Court summoned the Punjab Police inspector general (IGP) for Monday, warning him that he might be suspended if the culprits were not arrested.
Criticising the Punjab government and police, the court also observed that they all knew about the incident but did not take any action. The court also asked the Punjab advocate general to inform the Punjab chief minister about the poor investigation carried out by police, while the deputy attorney general of Pakistan was also directed to provide the details of the incident to the quarters concerned. The court also sought a detailed report about the crime rate in Punjab. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case about the killing of a woman on the orders of a local council in Khanewal on Wednesday.
According to details, Maryam Bibi, 25, mother of five, was killed for cutting grass growing on land belonging to a landlord, Raja Mehbub, in Khanewal. As per reports, the landlord had tried to sexually harass the woman, but she had refused to accept his demands. Consequently, he sent his men to the woman’s house, where they killed her by hitting her on the head with stones. The landlord also abducted her husband. Police registered a case against nine men for the murder.
During the hearing, the court objected to the investigation report, and said that the report was based on malafide intentions as it did not mention the local council. The Punjab advocate general told the bench that the local council was convened to settle the dispute. He further said that three of the men accused of the murder had been arrested.
The court sought record from the provincial inspector general and the district police officer concerned, and adjourned the hearing until July 23

The victim of an acid attack who lost one ear and the sight in one eye has fought in the courts for justice
Naila Farhat was a regular 13-year-old girl from a poor family. She was studying at a government school when her science teacher began to sexually harass her.

One afternoon, as she walked home from class with her younger brother and some classmates, the teacher and an accomplice stopped her in the street and demanded she go with them.

"He [the teacher] threatened me, saying he would beat me or burn me if I didn't go with him," says Naila. "I told him there was no way I would go with him. One of them grabbed my arm and the other threw acid on me. They had it in a big plastic container."

That was in 2003, in a village in Layyah district, in the far south of Punjab province. Naila received some basic medical treatment at a hospital in the provincial capital, Lahore, and in Islamabad, but was soon sent home.

Naila, whose father ran a tea-stall in her village, received 30% burns from the acid, an all-too-common form of punishment in Pakistan, meant to horribly disfigure women. It is often the response to sexual advances or marriage proposals being spurned in a sexually repressed society where men take this as an intolerable humiliation.

Both arms, her leg, her scalp, her face, were burnt. One ear was gone. One eye doesn't work even today.

"I went to so many places seeking treatment but I was turned away everywhere," says Naila.

Naila was stuck at home for the next four years. Then, a field officer from Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF) came to her village and the non-governmental organisation, which has the support of a UK charity Acid Survivors Trust International, has seen to her medical care and battle for justice.

Naila has been through multiple operations but has many more to come. She hopes surgery on her bad eye this summer will restore the sight. Her face is still brutally marked from the attack, although three hair transplant surgeries have given her back her hair.

The school teacher simply bribed the police and a local court and was dropped from the case. Naila did pursue the accomplice, making history by taking the acid attack case all the way to the supreme court in late 2009. The accomplice was eventually jailed for 12 years.

Naila is now studying again, trying to regain her lost school years. Her ambition is to become a lawyer.

"I am here today because of ASF and the support of my family," says Naila.

Since it started in 2006, ASF has been notified of 520 acid attacks against women. It is campaigning for new laws to restrict the trade in battery acid and provide rehabilitation for the victims.
