Post-sanctions Iran must focus on building a knowledge economy

Is the fantasy over yet? When can you realize for a second that pretending in front of outsiders about the well-being of yourself won't make things any better? Iran had the following ranking through 4 different international sources (by GDP per capita):

1. International Monetary Fund: Iran ranked 98th (while Namibia was ranked 91st and Jamaika 99th).
2. World bank: Iran ranked 99th (while Cuba ranked 83).
3. CIA World Fact Book: Iran ranked 100 (while Guyana 95 and Jordan 99).
4. United Nations: Iran ranked 92nd (while Colombia 79 and Turkemnistan 77).

If this is the ranking that Iran has got, I am sorry to tell you that the development of Iran hasn't started yet.

Smart guy
This figure below is Iran's GDP per capital from 1960 till 2014 as shown it was growing till 2010 when sanctions on all aspects of economy applied and from that period is going down which takes times and hard work to get it back on line.
So don't compare us to Turkmenistan it is all about sanctions.

How do you expect Iran gets full economy growths under heavy sanctions ?

I did not read all of your post(I don't have time for that), but a couple of points:
If Iranian economy is so strong, industrialized and diversified, why it got quickly crippled by US sanctions?!!!
10000000 pages of rants, does not mean as 1 single action.
BTW, typical Iranians living in Iran, don't think in the way you do, so don't talk like you are the true representative of Iran.
You are bragging about non-oil exports, while gas, LNG, and petrochemical exports are categorized as non-oil exports!!! Still well above 80%+ of Iranian exports are selling oil/gas/minerals.
You bragged about IKCO, while they are bankrupt, while enjoying high custom rates on car imports. Remove customs for car imports, then we can see if IKCO can even survive for 2 weeks.
High Tech exports?!!! LOL
BTW, what's the difference between Sigheh Mut'a, and cohabitation? Just saying two sentences of Arabic non-senses is the only difference.
No one teaches another person to become gay or straight. It's not like gays have studied a minor on "becoming gay" in college.

I did not want to reply to your post, but with all due respect for you, it was really beyond madness.
$61 billion in total.... 14 billions as petrochemical products... 12 billions as engineering services... 35 billions as other non-oil products... I know you are a fair person... so let's calculate better...
No one said, it is all done and all IRanian exports are high tech products already... I said, it is in the right track... promising more and more of high tech exports....

I said IKCO found out to correct its mistakes... I too said the same thing and think IKCO and SAIPA were a failure so far... but I said, due to recent shock they received by people not buying their cars, they started to change policies... first step was to cooperate with some market pioneers... second one was to hire million dollar design, management and production and marketing experts to guide them through...

The difference in Sigheh does not come from few Arabic or even Persian words exchanged in a deal (although it has spiritual effects)... The difference is when there is a kid out of that relationship.... when the kid wants ID... to avoid the girl from asking for NAFAGHE (monthly money) at the end and after that... to satisfy both needs of the girl and boy that are not in the position to marry permanently preventing them from animal-like adultery with no limitations.... Cohabitation is just another name to marriage when Europeans found desperately that few people among the civilized WEST cares about marriage and just live as room mates... Cohabitation brings responsibilities that a sigheh won't... In a civilized society bonds, agreements, clear-fair responsibilities, spiritual support and a clear family structure are what makes that relationship a civilized one... Some animals also live as cohabitants... most of them just foock for some time the female and just leave for another...

I am not saying all Iranian citizens are thinking the same as I do... Those couple of millions who need to believe in themselves are already did so... so, self confidence and hard work is now very well settled in young scientists who instead of going to bazar making money go take the hardship of building something in science and tech parks... These millions if even are less than %10 of all people are still enough for a nation like Iran to revive...

btw, I didn't meant you by my response... let's keep it friendly

Seems you did not read what I said... greatness does not comes out of OIL RIGGED money that Foreigner do for you... You talk like all Saudi money comes from Knowledge-based products!!

For the hundredth time the most fair indicator to show the quality of life in one country is HDI index:

List of countries by Human Development Index - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yet it is only the quality of life that is gonna change soon up or down by a simple another oil field or another oil well discovered... Some of the most important indicators to compare for greatness and advances of a nation are as I said:

- Industries (not oil wells that foreigners do on behalf of course!)
- high tech industries
- diversified industries
- number of research centers
-number of researches done
- number of private knowledge-based enterprises
- amount of exports of non-oil goods and services
- number of graduated brains and work force
- the amount of products a country can produce locally
- the rate of access to sanitation, water, electricity, telecommunications
- the rate of access to health services
- having the quality medical treatment facilities and experts
- the level of progress of that nation in 21th century science and techs (biochemistry, biophysics, lasers, stem cells, cloning, nuclear medicines, nano technology, metal and non-metal composites, etc)
- number of universities and students in higher education
- number of sport medals in Asian and Olympics
- The capability of that nation to build its needed armament locally
- Number of books published every year
- The degree of influence of one nation in international scene

and etc

now, if you have anything other than OIL GENERATE money... come up with it.. other than that we can agree to disagree... I understand you love to your country but facts are facts...and don't worry... Iran started to harvest a small portion of what its people cultivated in decades...I'm not in any way saying Iran is not its perfect form as she just woke up from the ashes of hardship.... but I can assure you that in coming decades you hear more of Iran and its new position as a world pioneer... Unfortunately most of ME is mess and chaos... This is what their people chose... so let them enjoy what they did... As Iranian case proved... nations are all alone unless they sell something to gain something in front... Iran left alone but its people did not give up and managed to become great again... I wish other Muslim countries do the same and believe in themselves and not falling for the inferiority complex....

People forget what sanctions Iran is under. It's not a simple embargo of certain goods. It's a mass scale economic siege. It's like how they used to conduct warfare in medieval times. The enemy would surround the city, not allowing anything to go in or out, until the people inside starved and were forced to surrender, because the invading force wouldn't want to attack them.

Now imagine that not only that city did not starve as expected, they actually learned new things and were doing find under the circumstances!

With the 2008 crisis, we saw so called developed countries fall into bankruptcy, and had to be bailed out by their neighbors. These were first world countries that were much higher in ranking than Iran, who had no economic siege, and yet they couldn't survive!

What Iran has been doing for the past three decades will be studied in the future as it has gone against all western expectations. Remember, the first sanctions against us came in 1979, before so called nuclear file or hezbollah or hamas or whatever crap they they threw at us in later years. They figured they would sanction us in 1979, when we kicked the Shah out, and we couldn't survive, and they would come and reinstate Shah again. But they saw, holy shit, sanctions after sanction after sanction, and after every media report of iran's economic collapse, and yet...nothing.

Big talk and few actions as always Middle Easterners!

This is the first time I agree with a Saudi Arabian .

Some people here are proud of posting shiny pictures or big talks of bunch of retarded and corrupted people in Islamic Republic while the truth is that the country is fucked although this is what Iranians deserve to be honest as they're either fanatic religious people or bunch of so called educated and liberal Persian racists proud of their Aryan blood and being inheritors of their beloved Cyrus the great .

God , I'm sick of this shit ...
