Possible sale of ALH Dhruv to Afghanistan

.
hmmm very good news. MK3 is what they needed at present in future mk4 also.

.
I think the recent news about the ALH getting FAA Certification will help in getting sales in the West. Yes the ALH has many competitors but in many ways it is the best and most affordable machine in its class.

Watch from 7.16 for a comparative analysis with other helos in its class:

ALH is good but what I meant is there could be a pressure on buyer not to but ALH if the tender involves US/ European helicopters from US/Concerned European power

ALH WSI will get IOC in the next 16 months AFAIK. For the immediate future the ALH MK.3 is a great candidate for export to the ANAF IMHO.

Down the road, depending on how things go, the ALH WSI can be considered or maybe even the LCH.

AFAIK, Feb 2013 Rudra was handed over to Indian Army Aviation corps...

from wiki: On 4 February 2013, the HAL Rudra Mk-IV achieved initial operational clearance.[7] The first 2 Rudras was handed over to the army by HAL during Aero India 2013.

I was present there when it was handed over to IA..

Handed over to the IA for final testing and validation, this was NOT induction into the IA mate. This is still at least 16 months away.

Fearing increase of Indian involvement in Afghanistan, which has cornered Pakistan's Interest in Afghanistan and Even rise of gaps between ISI and pro Pakistani elements in Afghanistan might lead to Pakistan giving warning of Nuclear strike on Kabul and other regions of Afghanistan.

CHina -Russia -India Summit was on Feb 2013 and they realise without Pakistan there is no point of discuss so they just :coffee: went home .

Any discussion without Pakistan about AF is just waste of time Like Bonn Conference 2011.

Delegations from 85 states, 15 international organizations and the United Nations attended the conference.[1] Pakistan withdrew from participation Bonn Conference due to a NATO airstrike with its territory on November 26, 2011 that resulted in the deaths of 26 Pakistani soldiers. Prior to the conference, Afghanistan had said that the purpose of conference would be hampered if Pakistan did not attend the conference and encouraged the United States to do everything it could to assure the Pakistani participation. In June 2011 there were speculations that the conference could mark formal start of Afghan peace process and that representatives of the Taliban might be invited to attend the conference.[2] However, the Taliban said they would not be represented at the upcoming Bonn Conference; Taliban Leader Mullah Mohammad Omar said in an Eid message that the conference was symbolic and the Taliban would not participate in it.[3] Ultimately, the speculated invitation was not extended.

According to Miriam Safi of the Kabul-based Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies, Afghanistan's goal for the conference was to ensure donor support for Afghanistan beyond 2014.[6] Afghanistan had originally intended the conference to serve as a showcase for diplomatic efforts at achieving Afghan-Taliban reconciliation, but negotiations broke down before the conference, and no Taliban delegate was present.[7] Pakistan's withdrawal from the conference also hindered discussion of the Taliban issue, since Pakistan's support is considered to be vital for any Afghan-Taliban agreement.[8]

When India had a summit with Russia and China, there was no Pakistan. :D
