Pope Francis questions Donald Trump's Christianity

I wont critisize the holy father but i think he should not comment such issues. the world is complicated enough right now.

I disagree. Sitting around with his hands folded in silence is not good...keep in mind 82% of those Mexicans are Catholics.

.
Will you guys puck your own tomatoes then?

Isn't net immigration from Mexico 0 ?

Ps. I do agree about no papl interference in countries politics

No, I won't. The Mexicans will do it once we build the wall and install a guest worker program (although I DO grow in the summer). It's done in the Middle East. Give all illegals one year to register. Those that don't, when caught, get deported immediately. Stringent employer checks of eligibility to work in the U.S. Heavy fines for those who 'skirt' the system. Illegals must re-register every two years. Miss that and get caught ? GONE. Commit a crime or lose your job ? GONE. Repeal 'Birthright Citizenship' and no path to citizenship or voting privilege. They would be 'guest workers'. No more. They benefit from us or they wouldn't be here. We should benefit from them plus we need to know who we have running around. Make the system work FOR us. :usflag:

The US is a immigrant nation... pretty much everyone came from immigrant ancestor.. if those before your ancestor said "Make system work for us" you woudlnt be there today..
And everyone migrate for selfish reason, no one thinks 'hey lets migrate today and provide benefit to that country.' You think your ancestor thought so?

BUT I don't think the pope should have commented on the internal politics of any country.

You gotta be kidding.. The Papacy throughout history has been a political institution, It's origins are in politics and conquest in the cloak of Christendom

Just refer to John Paul II, One of the most politicized popes in history, The figurehead of anti communism and pro fascist, Instrumental in Reagan/Thatcher policies at the height of the Cold war

Actually Francis is the closest to non political popes in living memory

.
This pope is a damn commie, he's very political, he really shouldn't be interfering in other countries internal matters. I thought the Donald's response was tremendous.

Religion and Politics should always be separated as combining the two will always lead to negative effects and will likely have negative consequences.

I agree. The holy father stays out of italian politics which is best for both religion as well as politics.

.
I first read it as 'Pope Francis questions Donald Trump's Chastity'. What a disappointment!

Historically speaking, this is why we Filipinos revolted against Spain in the late-19th century - the abuses of the Catholic church due to having massive influence on the Spanish colonial government, even having a final say on what is to be implemented or not.

Ironically it was Mussolini who put the church in its place here in italy. I don´t know about your country, but over here the church is very important for people but keeps out of politics.

So, my 2 cents....

I believe RC Church is making a pact with Russian orthodox Church. The pact will include combating the notion of destruction of family as core element of society, thus against gay/lesbian adoptions/marriages etc etc
It also includes the notion of "protecting Christians" across the world.
Here it becomes tricky, as from here on there's precious few steps to religious armies, although i expect for the sensation of make believe in Church as pacifist, needed for proliferation of faith, at least initially these tendencies to protect Christians across the world will be covert and constrained to backroom dealings.

In short, Church will commit to politics much more vigorously than before. It is true this Pope can be called the most apolitical so far, but recent moves he is making indicates this will not be so in the future.

No, they come for a better life. My parents came to the U.S. in 1951 from Germany and Ukraine. They came legally, learned English and became and raised Americans. What we don't need today, in the age of ISIS and the likes, is unknown quantities of who-knows-who pouring uncontrolled over our borders. Immigration to the U.S. is a privilege, not a right and should be driven by OUR needs, not the migrants. A finely tuned guest worker program along with a very secure border. Easy, peasy. :usflag:

That is funny because the US lectures certain nations not to build a fence/wall. Instead, certain nations should allow a free flow of immigration from neighboring countries etc. Talk about duplicity.

The problem with Trump is not only confined to building a wall. A wall by the way which Trump says Mexico will pay for. He has a whole list of things which are problematic.

Trump seeks to ban Muslims from entering the US. He will basically discriminate against people based on religion. Muslims who are already living in the US will be vigorously monitored and put into a database. The same applies for other minorities eventually. I'm sure that will do societal harmony a great deal

Trade deals with China, Japan, Mexico who are "killing" the US economy will be renegotiated. LOL try renegotiating the Trans-Pacific trade deal... Let alone trade deals with China.

Unemployment in the US is somehow the fault of China and Mexico who are accused of stealing American jobs. Trump is somehow going to bring back the "stolen" jobs from China and Mexico. Like as if, these countries are getting full wages and have put a gun to the heads of US companies and businesses to bring these jobs to their country. The only reason why US companies opt for outsourcing jobs is because they benefit from lower costs.

Trump is going to work together with Putin when the rest of the Americans are staunchly opposed to hearing his name. Trump thinks that by letting Putin fight in Syria he is going to defeat ISIS. Whilst the rest of the Americans accuse Putin of actually protecting ISIS and targeting the "good" rebels fighting for their cause. Go figure.

Trump claims that he is going to confiscate Iraqi oil. He is just going to take it from them. LOL

Trump actually believed that the US education system has fallen behind as he puts it "third" world countries. Trump also believes that the US is becoming a "third" world nation because it doesn't have a proper infrastructure in place.

Furthermore, Trump is a lackey of Israel and doesn't hide his unequivocal support for this country in all matters concerned. Trump pretends to be a good Christian when he can't even quote a single verse without making laughable mistakes. The guy is a joker.

Trump is nothing, but a narcissist maniac. He has suddenly found the support of a bunch of angry, confused and agitated white supremacists who have always been wronged and blame others for their problems and shortcomings. LOL at the silent majority... He is currently using their anger and negativity to his own advantage. The truth is that he can't even deliver on half of his promises. Trump's very existence has divided the US and his own party into pieces. He claims to be a conservative, yet his past record proves otherwise.

Once Trump becomes the president he isn't going to make the US great again. He is going to destroy it. The US has already problems with many countries in foreign relations. Expect such problems to grow exponentially. Imagine Trump dealing with European counterparts... LOL

Just like the pope is expected to mind his own business, I believe it would be better for Trump to just build more hotels and casino's. He is terrible at politics and he is a divider. The US is not going to become great under his watch.

Sadly, one of Spain's legacy, which is the Catholic church, still has a sway over Philippine politics, specially during election period and when certain laws are proposed by politicians but opposed by friars.

I think the pope forgot the US is secular, maybe the pope should take in illegals into his tiny Vatican Glass House.
