Dragunov is not a sniper rifle.
But it is a designated marksman rifle. How many armies use it as a standard issue rifle?

Neither uses a folding stand.

All rifles are used for battle. Neither uses a folding stand. Same class.

No no you are wrong we have lots of designations like Automatic rifle, semi automatic rifle, DMR, Assault rifle and battle rifle.

Mosin Nagant was a bolt action rifle issued to infantryman of the Russian Empire replacing the obsolete Berdan single shot bolt action rifles it only became a sniper rifle in Ww1 but a lot of time many including ww2 most mosin nagants were issued with iron sights.

M16 fired an intermediate cartridge just like the AK47 hence why it is its biggest rival especially due to the Cold War.

Its all about the cartridges both the Mosin Nagant and Dragunov do not fire intermediate cartridges like the M16 or AK47.

Dragunov has iron sights. The telescope sight is optional. M16 also has optional telescope sight. Both guns are same category. Only difference is M16 can spray full auto.

M16 packs 20 round mags to Dragunov's 10 round mags but modern combat involves very few soldiers at long distances so there's not much difference there.

Dragunov is a full powered one while a M16 uses an intermediate cartridge. Not to mention the dragunov can reach longer distances.

Dragunov is puny compared to WW1 era Mosin Nagant.

Catridges can vary. This does not change the category of gun. Germans used to use 7.92 mm. Russians use 5.45 mm. The category is the same. Battle rifle.

Apples and Oranges mate.

M16 is an assault rifle, inducted as service rifle.

Dragunov is a designated marksman rifle, designed and inducted as squad support weapon.

The only thing common between the two is perhaps they were introduced in 1960s and that they both fire bullets, which are of different caliber by the way!
