See, the problem with this is that if we deliver TOWs to the Ukrainians, the Russians will match that 10 times over with more soldiers and ammunition. It will escalate very quickly and get deadlier even quicker.

Yes it will be a good gift to Russian forces when Ukrainians are routed from the battle field because in all frankness there is no way Ukraine can stand up to Russia militarily.

Russia has huge stockpiles of old but still powerfull soviet weaponry.
Like Grad missile system which was delivered shortly to novorussia.
I mean soviets were insanly investing in ground forces back in the cold war. So much armor, so much fire power.
Russia is modernizing and will give all available old stockpiles to novorussia for free. A new satelite state which will be more powerfull than even romania.

The best thing to do is make it costly for the Russians as more bodybags come home to Russia. If the U.S. sends the missiles, will Russia respond by sending more soldiers in? But that would contradict they are not involved in the conflict correct? They can send more weapons to the rebels, but its not like they weren't going to. anyways.

TOW is wire guided. And uses laser range finder. It is just opticaly manualy guided.

The laser can be detected easily with Russian systems. A trained crew can launch fog barrier and retreat in no time.
Later or instantly the russian crew will search for the idiot who launched that crap and neutralize him.
This is not syria, with poorly trained arabs. This is novorussia with highly motivated russian rebels.
