The whole nation is aware (and sick of) the terrible mess in which our beloved country Pakistan finds itself today. Our younger generation is extremely worried, mostly unemployed and has no guidance. On the other hand, the older generation is worried about the future of their children and other younger members of their families.
Yet, those who are supposed to be capable of offering sane advice to the younger generation instead mislead our youth. Many western-educated and western-cultivated people try to convince them that their salvation lies in blindly following western values. The alternative, they assert, is a path back to the Stone Age. This propaganda is in full swing.
For eight years Musharraf and his cronies tried to thrust their Enlightened Islam down our throats. The over-ambitious military dictator, who now plans to return to power in Pakistan as a civilian saviour patronised many bureaucrats and political leaders.
Although they were ignorant of, or ignored, our religious values, Pervez Musharraf appointed them as heads of important state Institutions. The result was that they did their best to destroy our old cultural and religious values.
Meanwhile, another despicable drama has unfolded. The various religious sects are all centuries old. There had been periods of harmony between them. In view of this past fraternal harmony, why should there be an increase in sectarian killings now? When you look at the communal harmony in which people of these sects lead their lives, there was no apparent reasons for discord no quarrels in residential areas, no social issues.
Nevertheless, bombings and suicide attacks in mosques, markets and hospitals are frequent. Nobody tries to figure out, or is completely incapable of figuring out, how this bloodbath started and what is behind all this sudden appearance of mischief and outbreak of sectarian violence.
Who bargained away our sovereignty, our harmony, our tolerance and our love and affection for one another, and when and where did this take place? Foreign interests and opportunists are always waiting just around the corner to pounce on every opportunity to derail the peace, the tranquillity and social setup of our nation. They play the game of their foreign masters, destroy our country and then return to the lap of luxury they came from.
If this country is to progress and prosper and rejoin the comity of nations as a respectable country, we should seriously and carefully try to understand this dirty game.
Those who provide safe havens to our murderers, looters, cheaters, usurpers, etc, should be exposed. Sooner or later this puzzle can be solved and the perpetrators and their masters can certainly be unmasked and exposed.
However, Allah enjoins us not to lose hope. There are many good, honest, capable and God-fearing people in our country. It is only such people who can steer us through this grave crisis to safety and progress. In this seemingly hopeless situation I, along with many other patriotic Pakistanis, can see light at the end of the tunnel.
The basis of our optimism and hope is our unflinching faith in the Almighty and the patriotic feelings of our younger generation.
The bells are tolling for us. It is time for members of our young generation to act and devote their lives to serving their country and saving it from mischief, chaos and possible devastation and destruction.
President Abraham Lincoln once said that one could fool a few people all the time and many people for a short time, but in the end the truth comes out. In the end fraudsters and cheaters will be unmasked.
The present shows us all the noisy scenes we are witnessing these days that are the last dirge of the defeated forces. The victorious never beat their chest and dance with glee, nor make loud and false claims to fool people, especially the poor and illiterate.
If they are indeed patriots, as they claim to be, their first priority should be to consolidate the situation, enforce peace, establish law and order and strengthen the foundation of their motherland. If they did that, everybody could see and realise that the new order they claimed to be bringing about was for a better, more hopeful and brighter future.
However, that is not what we are seeing here. A new page of history is yet to be turned, a bad dream to come to an end and an era of peace and prosperity to dawn. The whole drama currently being staged is merely to cover up the failure of those in power. Money is being squandered to advance their respective agendas, but their end is bound to be the same as that of all evil-doers.
We are now witnessing the drop scenes of the manipulators, jugglers and fraudsters whose pasts are well documented and known to us. The intellectual community has totally ignored this facade, but the poor and ignorant have been successfully duped.
Calling oneself an aalim, a theologian par excellence and someone at the pinnacle of knowledge has performed a big deception. Such tactics have been unsuccessfully used by many throughout history and only ended in ignominy. Many individuals used all means, both fair and foul, and their abundant wealth, but it did not help them. Some even went so far as to claim: I am your saviour.
This claim brought evil-doers destruction and ignominious death. The same fate is in store for todays mischief-makers. Though the tactics of the present-day fraudsters may have changed, their end will be the same as that of their predecessors.
We should all pray to the Almighty to guide us on the right path and to protect us from hypocrisy. There is no need for desperation or hopelessness. Our strength lies in unity, and together we can face all evils. Truth always wins!
Our new-on-the-scene doctor, a self-proclaimed Sheikhul Islam has badly distorted Islam. He has tried to present historical Islamic figures as mere maulvis. He has asked for boarding, lodging and travel arrangements to be made for him in return for a whole week of his time. This is unpardonable.
Behind the promises and smooth talk of Tahirul Qadri an anti-Pakistan agenda is apparent creation of chaos and disruption in the country. May Allah guide him to the right path Ameen.
