This method had failed. Read up on league of nations. UNSC needs the involvement powerful countries to make it effective. And India is not one of these countries.
Just another prove that you have no idea of what you are talking! In the last UNSC elections India got 187 votes out 193, with 126 beeing the minimum to be elected (Germany hardly achieved the minimum, Pakistan 129), so power does not only reflect in weapons only, but also in straight, independent and reliable policies! That's what India stands for and what other countries like us, because we didn't bound to US pressure on Afghanistan, Iran, Lyiba, nor will we on China, we don't follow the same policies towards Iran and Palistine, although Israel is one of our closest partners and we opened the door for Europeans or even US, although Russia is our main defence ally and still maintain the closest partnership that Russia has with another country.
That's exactly the point why India is not already a permanent UNC member, because we don't want the seat in first place, we want a reform of the UN! That's why we remain with the addition of Germany, Brazil, Japan and India, although it would be easier for us to achieve it alone, since all 5 current veto powers already signaled support for India!
The other countries in the UN knows, that only with Indias strong foreign policy a change of the UN can be achieved, otherwise only the number of UNC powers will change, but not the policies and that's why India has high support all over the world and don't need to beg at all.
Any unbiased and logical thinking person knows that and even Chinese government knows, that supporting India as an Asian and Independent country, is more in their interest then simply adding countries like Japan, or Germany that will just follow US policies and reforms of the UN might even weaken the US side more, since many African or South American countries might prefer China over the US today.
