As violent protests triggered by the Islamabad crackdown proliferate to other cities, the army chief called up Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and suggested ‘peaceful’ resolution of the issue.

Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has suggested that the prime minister handle the Islamabad sit-in peacefully, avoiding violence, the chief military spokesperson wrote on the popular microblogging site Twitter.

“COAS [chief of army staff] telephoned PM. Suggested to handle Islamabad Dharna peacefully avoiding violence from both sides as it is not in national interest and cohesion,” Major General Asif Ghafoor, the director general of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in his tweet.

The army chief weighed in after protests spread to other main cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar, following the crackdown in Islamabad.

Police used tear gas and watercannon, and fought running battles with stone-throwing activists of Tehreek-e-Labbaik in the capital in an effort to break up their 20-day-long sit-in at Faizabad interchange.

The crackdown was launched after negotiations failed and the protesters defied the orders of the top courts of the country to end their sit-in as it had paralysed life in the capital.

The staunch supporter of the opposition are now staunch supporter of the government as well.

Fatwas everywhere that declare them terrorists while a girl was paraded naked no one thought Islam was in danger or yesterday teachers protest.


Why is the Pakistani public in a second can distance themselves from major issues saying it's not their concern and leave it for tomorrow.

I see all this differently ... it is good that the silent majority is seeing all these groups exposing themselves one by one.

Earth's resonance frequency has changed in many areas, and Pakistan is one. Frequency of human body is directly linked with the frequency of earth and that has a lot to do with what we are seeing (including awareness/shaoor), and those who can't hack that change are self imploding in ways we are seeing too. That's a bit of the scientific explanation per se but a topic for another thread.
