Whats the point of riot police if riotors feel bold enough to carry automatic firearms to shoot at cops.

These same cops cannot track any of the culprits that shot even their own brethren down either due to their own incompetency or Political pressure on them.
If your system is efficient and Empowered, Police can even control the public with simple batons and horses.

Problem is not that Organisations have weapons firing on police. Problem is where these police sleeping when such weapons were amasing in their respective police station jurisdiction?.
You cant control sh** even if you are state of the art Trillion dollar economy if your police is incompetent and tied down (Classic example Mexico)

CPO lahore has openly told that police is asked by the incumbent govts to not use force in riots or only use minimum force. While i agree that police needs more training and equipment but without a clear state policy vis a vis such fanatics like TLP, no amount of training and weapons will help. There is a talk of riot police creation in Pakistan, lets see what happens to that.

We don't need to turn Pakistan in to a fascist state. At the moment our police looks equipped enough to deal with the challenges. We already seen Model Town terrorism, police on purpose provoking protestors and then killing, involved in kidnapping, bribery, fake encounters.

If protestors are carrying guns then we call in the rangers who are highly trained and armed. If rangers cannot deal with the problem then we call in the military.
