Polish Defense Minister announces that Poland will form the largest ground force in the European Union with a terrifying formation of tanks..
Poland's Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak said that his country intends to create the strongest ground forces among the European NATO countries.
He said this in an interview with the weekly Sieci.
“The Polish army must be so numerous and strong that its presence frightens the aggressor. The rulers of the Kremlin do not attack strong countries - they attack when they see weakness. Either in terms of artillery or in terms of armored forces, there will not be a stronger nation in Europe in the end. We will have the strongest ground forces among the European NATO countries,” said Blachchak.
According to him, this year Poland will already receive its first Patriot anti-aircraft systems, which it ordered in 2018.
He added, "There will also be a battery similar to the British short-range 'Sky Saber' [British anti-aircraft missile system]. We also have the 'Peron' portable anti-aircraft missile systems, which have proven themselves in Ukraine."
In June, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced that his country plans to receive a certain number of Leopard tanks from Germany to replenish its stockpile of weapons.
According to some sources, the size of the Polish army will increase to 400,000 soldiers and will be equipped with more than 1,000 modern main battle tanks, including:
- 366 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks from America
- 250 Leopard 2A4 tanks from Germany
- 180 K2 tanks from South Korea
- 400 K2PL tanks, a Polish version of the South Korean K2.
