PT-16 main battle tank
One of Polish biggest military manufacturers unveils the new PT-16 main battle tank. That was reported by below-the-turret-ring.blogspot.com.

The new tank is supposedly called PT-16, but it is not clear if this is the final name. It is mainly meant for export, as the backbone of the Polish tank force is meant to be the Leopard 2, which is in process of being upgraded to the new Leopard 2PL configuration in the near future. The new PT-16 tank is somewhat related to the PT-91 “Twardy”, because it utilizes an upgraded version of the PT-91/T-72 hull.

However it seems to feature a new welded turret, which is armed with a 120 mm smoothbore gun manufactured by Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW). While Poland had started the development of a local copy of Rheinmetall’s 120 mm smoothbore design, the gun of the PT-91 is supposedly manufactured under licence; it has not been revealed whoo is responisble for the gun design and licencing; possibilities include companies from France, Germany, Ukraine or Switzerland. The gun is capable of firing Rheinmetall’s latest 120 mm DM63 APFSDS and DM11 HE rounds. The new turret has to include a new autoloader to load the longer 120 x 570 mm unitary catridges for Rheinmetall’s smoothbore gun design; how exactly this has been solved by the Polish engineers is unknown, but the Anders light tank and the Pl-01 concept tank utilized bustle mounted autoloaders.

The tank is protected by new modular composite armor. The turret armor is extremely thick and is reminiscent of the AMAP composite armor from the German company IBD Deisenroth as utilized on the Leopard 2 Evolution. IBD Deisenroth has supplied the armor package for the Rosomak-M variant and will deliver the armor for the new Leopard 2PL version. In so far it seems to be possible that IBD delivered the armor for the PT-16. It is understood that there will be some sort of local production of IBD’s armor for the Leopard 2PL; if this is done under licence or with a local subsidairy is not clear at the moment. The hull front seems to be fitted with applique armor modules, but retains a number of classical T-72 features; the integrated hull armor might still be identical to that of the T-72M1/PT-91.

The tank is fitted with a 1,000 horsepower (hp) engine from a Serbian supplier. Supposedly it can deliver up to 1,100 hp, but has been only rated for 1,000 hp on the tank. The upper side of the hull is protected by applique composite armor panels, while the lower side is protected by rubber skirts.

The turret is fitted with a remote weapon station (RWS) and a new sensor system. The RWS is armed with a machine gun and might double-act as a commander’s sight. The commander is at least not provided with a separate sight yet and there also appears to be no proper commander’s cupola, but rather a few vision blocks integrated into the turret roof. The sensor system consists of at least two modules, one at each side of the frontal turret. Each module contains three sensor units. These units might be cameras or laser-warning sensors.

I thought the same thing at the first sight.

If they weren't inspired by Altay, someone "feto" sold the blueprint of Altay.

I have heard about that feto terror organisation sold some blueprints of ongoing defense projects of Turkiye to other countries. This may be one of 'em.

When is mass production of Altay is starting? The project seems to be stalling...

2017 and yesterday OTOcar has given its last offer for serial production to the gov. I hope as soon as possible we will start to produce it.

Only similarity...

The front lines of Polish one looks almost same with first time lines of Altay. The design of Altay has been changed in accordance with changing requirements, especially with AKKOR self protection radar/sensor, munition project requiring some empty space for installation to provide 360 degree situation awareness/protection. Current turret of Altay doesn't look similar to Polish design.

It seems traitors inside of Turkish Republic were in action in the times design wasn't matured enough !

We need to add cameras for 360 degree digital view and get the rid of side mirrors and things like that altogether. We also need to put an autoloader for tank's ammunitions and that would reduce the amount of needed personnels by 1, reducing possible future casualties through tanks that we will eventually give somewhere down on the road by 33%.

Ukraine
The Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau has developed a T-72 tank main armament upgrade package which envisages use of a 120mm gun and NATO-standard ammunition.
It is possible to fit the T-72 tank with a 120-140mm main guns; in so doing, the scope of required re-designing is rather small, as these guns have the overall dimensions similar to those of the guns 2A46, 2A46M and KBA3. The breech-part of the offered 120mm KBM2 gun with a quick-replacement barrel has a high degree of commonality with the breech-part of the original gun of the T-72 tank.
In order to be able to use 120mm NATO-standard fixed ammunition, the automatic loader of the gun is installed in an isolated self-contained compartment in the turret bustle. The level of armour protection of the automatic loader compartment is analogous to that of the Leopard and Abrams tanks.
The total allowance of ammunition of the tank includes 40 rounds, of which 22 are positioned in the automatic loader.

120 mm KBM2 tank gun is intended for installation in main battle tanks.
The gun design meets NATO standards and can fire all types of 120 mm NATO ammunition. More over the gun design makes it possible to fire Ukrainian 120 mm guided missile.

Switzerland
RUAG group
developed a lightweight 120 mm smoothbore gun. This evolved from the need to retrofit the Swiss Army Pz 68 MBTs originally armed with a 105 mm rifled gun with Royal Ordnance L7 ballistics. To meet this requiremen,t the 120 mm L49 Compact Tank Gun (CTG) was designed by SW Swiss Ordnance Enterprise Corporation.
Currently, Ruag’s 120mm CTG is being used to arm the new Polish armored vehicle, WPB Anders. The gun is hosted in an unmanned turret with 12—round autoloader, with another 20 rounds stored away from the autoloader.

Italy? South Korea?

No views of the rear.... in the VID at 3.55, this looks like the side of a new turret bustle, which could well house an autoloader.
