My Grandfather's house in Lahore was near a natural swamp or chappar as they call it. Long story short in late 80's or early 90 I believe when wada mian was wazir e qillat of Punjab, he sold that chappar in underhanded shady dealing as plots and not as a housing scheme they learned about housing schemes few years later!

So they sold a natural area that was like a natural enclave for water in monsoon season all the water would end up their. since the mid 90's onward that area faces yearly flooding. In 97 I witnessed approximately 5ft of water. People's properties would get damaged annually! Now all the old neighbours who have lived their for many years have all gone.

I have witnessed this noon shenanigan with my own eyes.

Mate, you jotted down very good history of u-turns by Patwaris. In fact, whatever PMLn blames on others, it has and will always be found doing the same multiple times more and for a much longer period than the rest but patwaris make a lot more noise than their opponents. For example, none can beat the culture of abusive and derogatory language used by patwaris against their opponents, yet they blame PTI and others so much so that it even sounds true which in fact is not true at all...none can beat them in profanity. Similarly, they blame PTI of spreading liberal agenda & vulgarity for the innocuous, non-vulgar celebratory dancing by women in PTI sit-ins and gatherings but patwaris themselves arrange mujra parties in which their own female members, professional hookers and call girls dance, to attract voters and please their leadership but that's all halal and kosher.

They did character assassination of BB and then IK but if you put the lives of their gods NS and SS under the lens, a history of immoral sexual relationships and secret marriages will be revealed and it is no secret but the opponents never stoop that low to retaliate in the kind.

A lot more important question to brainstorm is that whether these tactics have been successful and if so then why? and the answer is illiteracy, ignorance, hypocrisy and shallow understanding of the religion and morality among PMLn electorate are the major factors responsible for the 'success" of this patwari politics. Zia-ul-Haq promoted a culture of hypocrisy and apparent religiosity that PMLn fully exploited. For example: NS and Ishaq Dark will do a photoshoot in in the holy mosques of Makkah and Medina and those pics will be printed in all newspapers and shown by all TV channels. The fools fall for it and ignore the fact that the whole show (i.e. the trip to the holy cities, the photoshoot and media coverage) has been paid from our pockets. In essence any act of worship should remain private between the person and his Creator but in the society where Haji is used to a hard earned title to impress the friends, neighbour and relatives, worship has become a tool to misguide the masses.
Basically, PMLn has corrupted the people so that they keep voting for them and buy the crap like "khata ha tu lagata bhi tu ha"
However, now it is all changing and a large portion of the voters in Punjab are realising the downside of such a stupid politics and they showed their resentment in GE2018 through their vote.

Their are two aspacts to this interest based vs islamic banking.

Firstly, It is a fact that it was Nawaz Governement who went into appeal against Courts verdict to abolish Interest entirely in the early 90s.

Secondly, the promotion of so called Islamic Banking based on Interest is the same as labeling and selling a bottle of Wine as RohAfza.

That is essentially what all governments have been doing and Nawaz Sharif leads the pack due to his uturns to abolish interest based banking altogether but insisted on selling Wine in the bottle of RohAfza to fool the people of Pakistan.

1. Nawaz has actually never been in favor of abolishing interest based commercial banking as he went into appeal against the decision to abolish it.

The federal government has reportedly enhanced overdraft limit of provincial governments for financial year 2017-2018, by about 40 per cent to Rs 97 billion from 69 billion, well informed sources told Business Recorder.

The Overdraft limit of Punjab stands as the highest and has been enhanced by 34.5 per cent to Rs 50 billion.
