no its not in Pakistan, it left thru illegal channels and that is the big problem. If it is in Pakistan it must be in some Bank accounts and accounted for then its not a problem.

It did not leave illegal (perhaps some part of it) for the most, the money circulated and was used to pay for the imports (goods machinery etc.), remitting money out of pakistan (corporations, individuals). The important part is that the money could have had better uses, instead we gave up dollars to buy rupees and restrict it supply keeping it artificially high. Now we have none.

It is no doubt massive problem and we need to tackle that. NAB Law needs to be amended to allow GOP to confiscate any property for which the owner cannot reasonably justify source of income. Let us shift burden of proof to these people.

Similarly FBR needs power to confiscate property where owner cannot show that it has paid taxes on income.

Exactly, if those dollars had stayed in Pakistan then injecting Dollars in the market is not a problem. Pakistani Arbab-e-iqtidar either are stupid or think people are stupid, they always tell you a problem from a wrong angle. I bet this was discovered by genius child named Asad Umer, every govt control their currency to some extent but smart genius Asad wont and allow India to start buying dollars from Pakistan's open market and crash rupee. Govt injects $22 billions in to open market, what happens to those $22 billion in the open market, where do they go? Dollars must be in Pakistan....or if you actually saying those $22 billions were smuggled out of Pakistan then you have bigger problems than govt injecting Dollars
