LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have announced full support of PTI’s candidates Aleem Khan and Shoab Sadiqi in by-elections in NA-122 and PP-147 respectively.
While, the Kaptan’s team showing their distrust over the Punjab Police and administration has demanded the government to depute Rangers at every polling station in the city constituencies to avoid any rigging in the by-elections.
On Tuesday, the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) Punjab general secretary Ch Zaheeruddin Khan visited the central election office of the PTI in NA-122 and held a meeting with PTI’s candidate Abdul Aleem Khan.
In the meeting, PML-Q leader assured the PTI candidate for his party’s full support saying that the polling day on October 11 is the day of victory for the PTI. He said on the direction of the party leaders, party’s office-bearers and workers would participate in the election campaign and play their role in the success of the PTI candidate in NA-122.PML-Q Punjab senior vice-president Mian Abdul Sattar, Rana Riaz, Sajjad Baloch and general secretary Arshad Bokhari accompanied Ch Zahir in the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has announced to favour the PTI candidates in NA 122 by-election and withdrew its candidate for PP-147 Ishtiaq Ahmad in favor of Shoaib Siddiqui of PTI.The announcement was made after PTI Punjab organizer Ch Sarwar met with PAT general secretary Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and Raheeq Abbasi along with Omar Sarfaraz Cheema and by-polls candidates Abdul Aleem Khan and Shoaib Siddiqui. Ch Sarwar thanked the PAT leadership for their support and hoped that the PTI would win the elections.
Later, Ch Sarwar along with other PTI leadership including Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, Anees Hashmi, Omar Cheema and Andleeb Abbas addressed an emergency press conference and warned rulers to bridle its ‘hooligans’.
They stated that the rulers were embarrassed by the evident defeat in by-polls and trying to harass the party workers.On this occasion, Ch Sarwar said that the Samanabad Police Station Station House Officer (SHO) told him in presence of five persons a PML-N candidate attacked PTI rally in Nawab Town.Ch Sarwar alleged that Punjab Police was no more bipartisan and demanded the government to deploy Rangers across the city to monitor by-elections to prevent rigging.
“Presently, it seems like the PML-N was given licence to silence its opponents with hooliganism,” he said adding that the PTI, however, would not leave the field open for and take revenge from them in form of electoral victory on October 11.
PML-Q, PAT announce to support PTI in by-polls
