It has already happened..literally PMLN defaulted the country in 1998 when not only the SBP reserves were used up but private banks reserved was also used up leading to high inflation and lowest growth from 1998-2001..for reference at this moment we have 7+7b reserves (14b)

The debt had swelled to 84% in 1998...

Mushi govt left the debt at 45% and introduced a law called debt law that will force govt to limit debt to 60% but that law was disregarded by PMLN

So its not surprising ... We have been here (infact worse) and we re elected PMLN

In order to fix the economy, first you need to nationalise and/or privatise all of the army's non-military business.

What good would that do? These companies provide jobs to military veterans and the profit goes to the pension fund for the veterans and on top of that majority of them are profit making while the industries run by the govt are all making losses.
