PML-N govt to remove heads of loss-making national companies

.
show me the profits PIA earned during his tenure, please?

point being is very simply; separate the political interference/appointments of the business entities !

unfortunately PIA dont have their annual reports of the 90s era but Shahid Khaqan did a great job. Only if someone can find Dawn newspaper of 16 Dec 1998.

and this time he will not be the Chairman of PIA since he is running his own Airline Air Blue

privatise 49% of these institutions & see what happens! it will boom! these can become instead of being a problem they will become assets of the nation!

and by keeping 51% of the stake you insure that the government can keep a check.

All these loss making institutions got legitimacy, by the blessings of cheap justice!

u mean chief justice - the US$400m offered for PS must be looking like a 'sweet deal' right now,PKR 40,000,000,000...WoW!!!

I agree, Management control can even be transferred at 25%. Let the private investors turn these institutions around and convert them into cash cows rather than white elephants.

Don't worry. Patwaris will get commission!!
Patwari Patwari kardi nee main aapay ee patwari hoye.
11 May di raat nu samnay Balla rakh key royee. :P

when Abraj group took over KESC, it had 16000 employees now only 11000. Obviously the situation in these govt institutions is bad and we need some cleaning but privatizing all of them will lead to a great number of people losing jobs. Not an ideal solution.

Shiekh hafeez in Musharaf's era presented this idea and which i believe is good, the state institution should never be held with govt instead they should be privatized. The board of directors should have private investors, professionals. the workers should never be made permanent rather a contract base policy, promotions should be on the basis of merit, you get to stay if you work hard. only than these institutions will get better. if changing the heads of institutes was the only solution we would have seen a better pakistan long ago

5,000 useless labourers unemployed or 500 billion ruppees loss? which is better? usually the 5,000 people fired are wons hired by PPP or any government when in power!

& hence i say just privatise 49% so the management is priivtazied and no complete removal of government power that might lead the companty becoming to powerful & dictating its decisions to the government!
